Do you still consider Floyd Mayweather a "cherry picker"?

Just give the guy credit for taking this fight.

If agreeing to fight an old man after being figuratively "forced into it" is your only defense against a cherry picker label, you are a cherry picker.

Floyd ducks every fighter until he fights them. At that point he cherrypicks them. As far as this fight goes, let's just see some consistency. If you say he was forced into the fight, that's fine. However, don't come back later and claim Mosley was a cherry picked opponent.

Yes, the only reason this fight is even happening is because he was backed into a corner.

He should have chosen Mosley for his comeback insted of JMM, he's fighting Mosley now only because it was either him or Matt Hatton.

He didn't "cherry pick" Mosley, he just took too long to fight a guy he should have a while ago.

The only opponent people seem to be accusing him of cherry picking is Marquez even though it was a clear tune up after such a long lay off.

Answer honestly. Do you really believe that Matthew Hatton was seriously considered as an opponent for Mayweather?

The reason he didn't fight Margarito was because he bought himself out of his contract with Arum instead so he could fight De La Hoya.

I was not there so I can not say for sure, all I have to go off of are various interviews of Matt Hatton saying Mayweather's people had been in touch with him.

Now to answer your question no and I hoped it was a joke, but I would not have been surprised if it had actually happened.

    This is a good point.

People say he's only fighting Mosley because he was backed into a corner but will they give him credit if he beats him? Or will they say Mosley was past it?

Yes because he had all the time to fight one of Cotto and Margarito, when they were supreme at WW but chose the money and fame (OLDH) or the easier fights.

I don't blame him for not challenging PW, simply because no one at WW appart from Quintana has done it.

With regards to the steroid controversy, really, if Pacq was willing to do the test after the fight and anytime 2 weeks before the fight... isn't that enough... assurance?

And really now, the Pacq he saw until then was the Pacq he, before, thought wouldn't poze much of a challenge. So why change your mind, Floyd? It's simple why, Pacq is the one boxer with a genuine chance of beating Floyd. Despite being vulnerable to the straight right, Pacq is just so active in the ring and so mobile, that it would be near impossible to keep him at bay for 12 rounds. And Floyd has never been a very active fighter, especially since moving at WW.

    Past is past.
I give Mayweather credit for taking Mosley.
