I'm not a PBF hater or nuthugger but i can now see that there will always be people out there who will never give PBF credit, no matter what he does. They will always find a reason to discredit him. It's a shame people can't be objective.

Yes it means little to me him facing Mosley now. Yeah its a huge fight but he was forced into fighting Pacquiao or Mosley because he needs to pay the IRS and everyone will boycott his other fights theres no attractive options. Lets face it he never agreed to fight Mosley until Mosley was 38 on a long layoff. Yeah he offered him a fight in 2006 on 3 months notice that Shane declined the week before the Vargas rematch.

So you would not be surprised if Mayweather decided to fight a glorified club fighter with no real following, who no one wanted to see him fight, in a fight that would have seen him get publically roasted? You would not surprised to see him do this yet you believe he was forced to fight Shane? I would think that if someone of Floyd's stature would fight Matthew Hatton, that means they don't care what the fans or anyone else thinks. If that's the case how could he be forced to fight Shane? Why wouldn't he fight say Kermit Cintron instead?

The fight was offered after the Vargas rematch. His IRS debt is already paid.

If by cherry picker you mean fighting the best in the division then yea.

If Mayweather is a cherry picker than Pacquiao is the absolute grandmaster of cherry picking. Mosley>Clottey any day of the week.

You have a short memory which ok. Most assumed Mosley would win that rematch and Floyd had that November date open for Baldomir maybe Spinks or Mosley. Shane was asked all week will you fight Mayweather in November he said no ive spent 6 months training for and fighting Vargas im taking my family away lets do this in February. Obviously Mayweather had the plans with DLH so I wont talk **** there. However after DLH no reason he shouldnt have accepted that fight hell Shane was his mandatory from the WBC. Floyd retires for 2 weeks yet signs to fight Hatton who isnt nearly as tough a challenge as Mosley.

Hatton said that Floyd wanted to do the whole "Brother's revenge" angle for their fight in England, like him or hate him Floyd knows business and if Floyd whole heartedly thought that would have sold alot, it probably would have (if this was true).

That's pretty well known, someone here even made a thread based off a video where Floyd even said he doesnt care about his fans he just fights for money.

Because Floyd wants money, Cintron in PR or NY would have been decent but out of all his choices Mosley comes with the better payday and a title.

Don't think I say all this just to spite Floyd or because I "hate" him, after ducking the likes Cotto, Margarito (pre cheating) and Williams hiding behind the tired excuse "they are not profitable" and insted fighting Lightweight's, Light Welterweight's (BTW this is the first ligit Welterweight Mayweather has fought since 2006) it would not surprise me in the least if he did it one more time.

I will give Mayweather full credit if he beats Mosley.

lol @ the haters still not giving him credit for fighting Mosley because he was "forced" to fight Mosley.

First he's a cherrypicker, now he's forced to fight someone. Which on is it?

I wasn't impressed with his decision to fight juan manuel marquez - but since floyd is fighting mosley I will no longer refer to him as a dodger or cherry picker. He manned up and took the fight that he needed to take.

You're blatantly contradicting yourself. You say he doesn't care what anyone thinks and could sell a fight with Matthew Hatton of all people, but at the same time he's being forced to fight Mosley because of the payday involved. Well couldn't he just line up a couple of handpicked guys and make the same money? If it were just about getting the biggest payday, wouldn't he have forced to fight Pacquiao? And how does a guy who supposedly spent years ducking everyone under the sun while still being a top the p4p lists and being one of the biggest attractions in the sport ever get forced to fight anyone? I don't care if you do or don't hate the guy. That's on you. But at least be consistent and try not to contradict yourself.

and for those of you crying about mayweather fighting marquez. why dont you bring up the fact mayweather was out of boxing for nearly 2 years. was marquez hand picked, of course. but dont most fighters handpick opponents after long layoffs?

Did you know Shane actually signed to fight Cotto before Floyd signed to fight Hatton? Did you also know that Shane was mentioned as backup plan for Cotto going into the Margo/Williams fight? Shane got less than $5 mill to fight Cotto in a fight that did less than 400k. Hatton got $6 mill guarenteed against Floyd in a fight that did almost 1 mill. Hatton was in his 20's, was undefeated, and was a top 10 p4p fighter. Shane would've been the tougher fight, but Hatton was bigger fight(keep in mind people were already criticising him for beating an old guy who was younger than Shane and who arguably beat Shane while Shane was on PEDs). Floyd has been consistently taking on the biggest fights available for years(the Marquez sparring session excluded). This is why this fight is happening now. It's the biggest fight available to both guys. Shane spent years ignoring Floyd when Shane had better options. Floyd skipped over Shane once when he had a better option.
