The fight was a disgrace. As for Haye landing 4 times as many punches...what was the final tally. 12 punches for Haye, 4 for Valuev?
That would be 3 times more.:good Seriously though, it was a terrible fight. Haye won it comfortably in my opinion, he wasn't getting hit at all and landed a fair few big shots with the left.
Right, 3 times...atsch Still, I didn't notice many big shots, with the exception of the pot shot in the final round. It was a dreadful affair, just as the Ruiz one will inevitably be. Now, I do like Haye, but in my humble opinion he has not and will not be an exciting heavyweight. He's going to move and hold and pot shot and he will not be nearly as aggressive as he was in his days as a cruiser when he had a height, size and strength advantage over every opponent he faced.
Technically both Ray Austin & Tony Thompson are are as big as Wladimir: Austin is listed at 6'6" with an 80" Reach & he fought Wlad at 247 lbs. Thompson is listed at 6'5" with an 81½" Reach & he fought Wlad at 247½ lbs. Wladimir is 6'6½" with an 81" Reach and he usually weighs around 240-245 or so.
Actually, I DO like to see Haye fight. And, nothing else. Against capable opposition. Removing Valuev from the cycle jerk will open the door for Haye vs. Klitschko, as they cannot get away with Haye vs. Ruiz I-XIV in a row. I hope we are not seeing negotiations for Haye vs. Holyfield ...
hey guys it's not going ahead!!! team valuev accepted the 2.5Mil offer, but they want the tv right from usa and russia too. And K2 will not accept this
They will find some arrangement, like Valuev getting the russian and Klitschko the US, or they split both to some ratio. BTW, I hope we are not going to see Haye vs. Kali Meehan or Dimitrenko ... but the latter guy would be exactly Hayes style.
Should be a good bout. Possibly Valuev's last chance, so he's gonna go for it. Team that with Vitali trying to make a statement before a possible bout with Haye. :thumbsup
but K2 said that they have all the tv rights. and team valuev gets 2.5 mil and thats all. i don't think K2 will give don king money for nothing. especially in russia this will be a big money fight and hbo will get that fight for sure. thats a lot of money
Fact is that Don King knows there's absolutely no money in a Haye rematch. Haye is not a draw which is why he is intent on making a fight with the far more formidable Vitali.
Not sure why people are always under this impression. Vitali beat Timo Hoffmann years ago, who was heavier and roughly the same height if not a little taller when he wasn't crouching. A better fighter than Valuev as well. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Q1QrWOW4T4[/ame]
