I seen an interview with Leonard and he's a very nice guy, but his confidence level is further than any fighter i've every seen. He knows he was the truth and he's not shy about what he says.

He was asked if he would beat Mayweather and Mosley and he looked in the camera and said a definite "yes" ... and he kinda looked shocked that someone would have the nerve to ask him that, like you know I would, so why ask.

Sugar Ray Leonard is a combination of the best fighters today all wrapped up in one package.

It's hard to see anyone from 140-160 beating SRL on a level playing field in his prime.

I for one would have loved to see him and Floyd go 15 rounds ... I think that Floyd is the closest thing to SRL of the modern day fighters, but isn't as much of a risk taker. Add to that SRL looks like he's never been in a fight in his life.

Floyd is up there as one of the best, if not the best of all-time, but SRL and Tommy Hearns at welterweight were as good as it got. It would be tough for Floyd to beat those guys decisively but i'm sure that he would be more competetive against them than any fighter of the last 20yrs.

    Thoughts???

May is always gonna be picked to lose against old fighters. Even though Roger Mayweather was competitive with Pea and Floyd is 10 times better, he would lose a massively wide decision according to these guys.

He still would lose to SRL though.

I think RJJ beats him at 160
    SRR
Pea Whitaker gives him hell at 147 as well.
PBF loses to SRL at 147.

I'm pretty sure he was already conclusively beaten at his best, against a natural Lightweight no less. Not a slight on him, as he was definitely in the mix with the best Welterweights of all timen (and Duran at that stage would've given most any Welterweight that's ever laced up the gloves a real run for their money). He obviously wasn't unbeatable, though. I'd favor the original Sugar Ray to turn the trick as well.

He said its hard to see anyone in the history of boxing beating prime Leonard and i replied that Duran did it,what happened in the second or third fight doesnt change the fact that Duran beat prime SRL in their first fight.

I think SRL would beat a prime Hopkins/Pavlik/Taylor ... I don't see those guys being that competetive in a 15 round fight.

I think Pea would be competetive and so would Floyd ... and maybe someone like DLH but Pac would get destroyed ... so would Mosley ...

You guys remember the end of the first Hearns fight ... or what he did to Floyd's dad ... a true animal ... fast hands, great jab, great right hand ... great footwork, agility, power and defense (when he wanted to)

Well, Duran actually beat him in his prime, so that's kind of a dumb question.

There are a few others that would do so also, Robinson, Walker, Gavilan, Burley, Rodriguez, Griffith all have at least a very good chance and some of them even would be heavy favourites at ww. And he wouldn't beat Monzon, prime Hagler, Hopkins, Tiger, Walker, Robinson, and a few other atg mws.

Thomas Hearns would destroy Duran at welterweight.
