In all honesty, old or not, I think Mayweather is shook of Shane. He knows that one punch from Shane can have him kissing the canvas and Floyd can get hit. Ask Oscar and Zab.

if that was your opinion of shane before floyd signed, then that's ok, if not, then you're pathetic. what i'm getting at is boxing fans were begging for this fight to be made, now it's been made, all i'm reading is ready-made excuses. shane is old in boxing terms, but he's not that much older from when he beat margarito, he most likely hasn't lost his reflexes or speed since that fight, so something has happened since then, and it's probably because floyd has signed for the fight, so now some sad twats have to back pedal on their opinion on the fight.

I am no hypocrite but I just call it how I see and an over the hill Mosley still has a good chance so the fight is legitimate in my eyes.

Mayweather's detractors have already made up their minds that if Floyd wins its because Mosley is old. Anything to take away the win before it happens.

i'm guessing by your post that your opinion on mosley being shot never changed even after the margarito win? or has your opinion only changed more recently?

Funny you should say that. I was just browsing through the old comments in the forum to see what people were saying about Mosley a few years ago, and here is one from you (dated 7/7/2007):

If you thought that Mosley had slowed down enough for Mayweather to beat him nearly three years ago, what has changed since that makes it such a good win?! Surely Shane hasn't gotten faster...

Shot does not mean can not win in my book just means you lost some of your best attributes. A shot Mosley beats a C level fighters like Collazo all day long it is all relative but Mayweather is an exceptional talent still close to his prime.

you aren't really answering the question of has your opinion on mosley changed since his fight with margarito, it's a simple yes or no answer. remember, i want an honest answer though.your definition of shot is a lot different from my'n. i define shot as a shell of what a fighter once was, a fighter who was at the top, but is now having trouble beating c level fighters, but that isn't mosley yet, mosley is still at the top, he still is giving the elite boxers trouble, so no, mosley is not shot, he's just not in his prime. floyd also is not in his prime. if you watch fights of floyd's from when he was at the smaller weight than now, then you'll see some difference in workrate, even speed. floyd will now be declining, but he's still the best in the world in my opinion when regarding ability.

Nice touch looking up my old posts.

But my above comment is simply addressing the posters who criticized Floyd for not fighting Mosley and when they finally sign and the fight is on they seem to backpedal looking for excuses.

And its not just Floyd Mayweather, I generally dislike this when it happens to any fighter.

I'm not sure if you're trying to question my motives here but my opinion of Shane Mosley didn't get better after he signed the deal to fight Floyd. It was always the same.

And another thing, Mosley has shown since that post was made in 2007 that he's still a force in the division He had a spirited affair with Cotto and he's also had what could be labeled his greatest performance against Margarito recently. That has convinced me enough that Shane would be a very good win for anybody.

just watch the way mosley block floyd's hand at the press conference and tell me if he's slow. he also sounds the same during one on one interviews in dc on internet clips.

    Of course. It's like this...

Before Floyd and Mosley signed to fight:
    "Floyd will never fight Mosley."
"Mosley is the top dog at Welterweight."
"Mosley demolished Margarito and proved he is the best."
    "Floyd is scared of Mosley."

After Floyd and Mosley signed to fight:
    "Mosley is old."
"Floyd waited for Mosley to be past his best."

    The bottom line:
This fight matches the best against the best. Period.

Shot is a strong word, but a welterweight at 38 to 39 years of age is more than 'past-prime'...(he was 'past-prime' at 32) he's significantly past his best.
