Martinez will wilt to tha pressure that Kelly Pavlik brings ... he's not going to be able to move and dip for 12 straight rounds and he's not doing himself any favors with his hands down. I don't think he's going to be able to hurt Pavlik like he did Williams ... and I'm sure that Pavlik will attack that body ... he will also take 3 to give 1 hard flush shot.

Martinez doesn't have a good jab either which is something you would need to beat Pavlik ... Pavlik also has a high punch output for a middleweight so i'm sure that this will be a quick night for Pavlik ... i'll give Martinez 6 or 7 rounds before he begins to break down.

Martinez will have a good 3 rounds then it goes down hill after that.

The ghost is still the middleweight king and undefeated at 160 ... hell Martinez isn't that great of a boxer - at least not good enough to outbox Pavlik. !!

Pavlik by T/KO. But I see it being an hellacious struggle on the way to that outcome.

like I said before ... Pavlik might have trouble for 5 rounds but I can't see it being like the Miranda fight ... I give Martinez credit for what he did against Williams but he's not ready for this kinda pressure. He will wilt because he's been broke down before.

I'm starting to wonder if Williams will be able to stand up to Pavlik in the later rounds. Pavlik has a good chin and he's intimidating as far as his durability, power, and awareness.

yeah I got pavlik.... when pw did the best against martinez was when he stopped over extending on his punches... its bad to do that against fighters who use distance the way martinez does... i dont think will be a problem for pavlik because martinez won't be able to counter pavlik teh way he did williams... if you people understand what i'm saying

williams will be a harder matchup for pavlik than martinez.... martinez might not even be that good of a match up at all

Yea because Pavlik is going to come straight at Williams ... but i'm wondering how he would react to Pavlik punches.

Of course but this is a fight and Williams gets hit more than he should ... not to say that Williams would win, but i'm starting to think that it's going to be a tough go round for Williams especially down the stretch.

it'll be a fight of momentum... whoever has the higher momentum will have the flow going into the later rounds... neither guys really tire like that

    esp paul...

Well, I think I partly agree. I did notice Williams giving up his height and bending forward at the waste. When you are taller you are looking down at your opponent and that tucks your chin naturally. When you bend over you have to raise your chin to see your opponent.

Kelly ain't gonna be bending over from the waste and lunging in. That said, Paul is a MUCH easier match up and most people on this board see it that way. Paul and Kelly both come forward. Both throw a lot of leather. One guy is bigger and has more on his punches.

Martinez will try and keep away from Kelly as much as possible and he will have to resort to trying to dart in and out because Kelly won't be lunging in giving Martinez the same openings. Kelly has sound fundamentals and does a decent job picking off shots with his gloves. He also generally does good at keeping the right distance. When you are the taller guy you can take shots at the end of your opponents range but can he take them from you?

Martinez by close decision....Pavlik has average to a little above average skills...He usually relies on his power....and Martinez southpaw style will give pavlik problems...Martinez takes a close but clear decision...
