I believe there will be no random blood testing for this fight. They might show one blood test, but It will not be anything random . And I am sure Bob has someone watching to see how many tests were done.
No matter what it'll be interesting to see how HBO handles the issue. The suits/morality preachers at HBO sports might take a few "journalistic" swipes at Pacquiao. Create a little distance. Or not. That's the interesting part. They'll tell us everything they know, subliminally. This 24/7 series is going to be fascinating. Manny is their crown jewel, or one of them, so you have to expect a little bit of double dealing. Or not.
Morality means nothing to cable TV...it's all about $$ and what they can squeeze. They, though not sure who the "they" will be, might take a small jab or two at Pac. But it's a little doubtful. Pac's a cable TV dream. Rags to riches, humble, and an action fighter. HBO really has no reason to take a side in this.
You should watch HBO's programming more often, Lance. ALOT more... Back to the subject - if it was all about $$ to HBO they would have dropped boxing a long time ago. HBO, much like the Watergaters, and all the other networks and powerful entities out there, have their ways of hedging their bets. Whether or not they have reason to take sides will reveal itself. Politics is the entertainment business. The entertainment business is politics. It would be nice if everything was so cut and dry. It isn't, Alaskan. Not even close.
Thats true. It could get interesting but they have already shown some small bias towards Pac over Floyd in that they picked up Pac's March 13th date instantly while totally disregarding that Floyd could fight on the same date as well.
If that's accurate I'd take that as a statement already. Of course, they might know alot more now then they did then. The details of that date are in bits and pieces for us anyway though. And besides, Pacquiao had a dance partner lined up. Beat Floyd to it. It's natural they would have went with Manny. He actually had somebody penciled in at that point.
