BTW you may not beleive this but I once got charged £1 at a 'do' by John H Stracey for his autograph!!!!!

 

Was it in the 70's...:think Its probably today's equivalent of a tenner...:nut

 

It was in the early/ mid 90s and it was **** all even then, a lot less than a the cost of a pint. It felt weird handing over the money (he took the money himself) to him TBH.

I thought it might have been like a 'jokey' ask of a quid for the autograph! Could you pay him to sing a song as well?

 

Nah mate, there was a queue for an autograph (this is before every ****er had camera phones for pictures) and you had to give him a quid.

Funny you should mention the song, he did round off the night with a poem he'd wrote. Everyone listened out of respect but you could tell he'd "lost the crowd" at that point.

 

At the end of the day, 20 notes is 20 notes, and when you have already paid a hundred to see the wee fat ****er its a bit of a joke I.M.O. Put me right off going back again, ok I would think different if it was SRLeonard or Ali, but not Hatton, greedy *******s

I think when fighters ask for money for a picture unless it is all going to a worthy charity it is a joke...:yep especially as mentioned above when some have paid upto £100 for a seat at a dinner show...:yep
