Nah, it was just the fact that it was only a quid that I found weird/ embarrassing. I just couldn't understand why he'd bother to charge £1.

Perhaps he was about to go shopping and needed it for a trolley:think. Just to be a **** I would have gave him something measley like 20p extra and said 'that's on the house, spend it wisely'.

As for this thread, why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist over someone else making money? Jealously? Who says he shouldn't take advantage of his own fame and make some extra money; like any of you would turn down money to do a voice over! I don't recall people calling Henry Cooper a '****' for the flu jab adverts, so why should Hatton be treated differently? I honestly do not get the hate the guy gets considering what he's done for British boxing. What do you all want him to do to fit your idea of what he should do now that he's made a success of himself?

    Rant over:lol:.

I have seen that advert as well, actually:lol:. Does Cooper get the level of hate that Hatton does for an advert? No, he bloody hell doesn't! I don't get this 'he's a fake council estate lad now he has money' ****. People should be happy that a British boxer is getting money in the bank after all the tragic stories we hear about fighters losing their money and living in poverty in old-age. 'Good on him for making as much money now and enjoying it whilst he still can' is what I say- boxing is a dangerous sport after all:deal.

I'm sure if Cooper was active when Internet forums were about then he'd probably have gotten it as well. People do like to "vent" (to put it politely!) on forums!!!

I think its pretty common for us "normal" people to wonder why an already rich person would want/ need more money, but thats not how things tend to work in reality. Bill Gates still makes money at Microsoft, Steve Jobs still runs Apple.....I guess no matter how much you're worth its hard turn to down even more cash when its there for the taking?

I never had you down as normal Gaz - always thought you were a bit of a weirdo ;)

I think self made millionaires like them guys - its just their work ethic - they got that drive and habit and determantion in them to suceed - its not just about money.

But "normal" people who win the lotto tend to quit their jobs and just live easy off their money.

The advert Hatton done though is purely for money - as you can tell he cant be arsed he is just going through the motions.

I suppose though - if you are famous and can make alot of money just off your name then why not ?

Its like somone goes on Big Brother and they come out and they get themsleves a agent and they get offers like:

£5000 to make a appearance at a Nightclub in Nottingham

£3000 to cut the ribbon and officially open the new HMV in Swansea

Its just easy undesevered money - off the back of your fame

The world is so fickle Fame can make you money just off your fame

Paris Hilton was paid $1,000,000 to go down a street in Russia in a open top car and wave at the crowds.

'I had a long day at work so I'm going to call Ricky Hatton a **** from behind my keyboard. That'll show the world and Ricky Hatton all in one fell swoop not to **** with me'. I suppose you are right, but that doesn't make it acceptable, IMO.

People are assuming that Hatton was paid for this advert and did it as a result of his perceived narcissism, but maybe he actually did the voiceover as he is passionate about the cause and wants the best for his fans? Nobody is considering that possibility either:think.

Back in the formative years of society wealth was fairer because you could only trade what you had to what others had

These days = because money dosent really exist - money can be mainpulated to just keep a few very well looked after finically.

While all the normal people work hard for a mere fraction of the cash of the elite.
