So Paul was ready to fight Pavlik twice, and now you think he's ducking him? And how long did Pavlik fight after the date he was supposed to fight Williams? Wasn't it like two weeks?

 

Paul had decided before the Martinez fight that he was through with pavlik, after three failed attempts at a fight. He was in negotiations to give Sergio an instant rematch, but Bob Arum, knowing that Pav was left out in the cold, jumped in and offered Sergio a chance at the belts and more money.

Please don't feed into Pavlik is King and his assumptions that it was Paul who refused Sergio a rematch. It wasn't like that. Facts.

 

You imply that Paul somehow could see into the future and knew that Pavlik was gonna get injured closer to the fight, he had no idea of this when the fight was originally arranged and presumed he would fight a fit and healthy Pavlik, so that is bull****.

Also, so what if Paul goes back to 147, he is a natural 147-154, so he would of been stepping up to fight Pavlik on Pavlik's own terms, remember how hard it is to step up weight, you should know from Pavlik's embarrassing schooling at 170.

You continue to ignore the fact that Paul had decided before his tough fight with Martinez that he would not be dealing with Pav any time soon.

I know that little annoying fact is an inconvenient one, because it blows a hole in your little theory that Martinez scared Paul away from Pav... But you can't just ignore facts and expect to be taken seriously

 

I see to remembering hearing the same thing NBA is talking about, I'll be looking for it. I don't understand what the big deal is, they had a fight scheduled and Kelly postponed it and then had it canceled and fought two weeks later. Sure, he may've beaten Espino one-handed or whatever but he kept saying his hand was good to go at the press conference. What I am saying is that you are implying that Paul Williams somehow knew that Pavlik was injured, when in fact, when the fight was agreed, Pavlik was perfectly healthy.

You say stuff like "Paul wants none of a fully fit Pavlik," but when the fight was originally signed, how was Paul to know Pavlik was gonna get injured?

In conclusion, Paul was happy to fight a fully fit Pavlik.
