Jamie Moore turned down a fight with Darren Barker

interesting. that fight needs to happen. any reason why

 

It was reported before on here. Moore's team said that they were above the British title now and that it would be a step back fighting Barker. Sure, we are missing out on a great fight but they are right (I think Moore has a high ranking with the WBC at middleweight) as he could potentially still set up a world title fight for himself. Plus, it would have been too big of a risk for Moore to have fought him on his return from a loss to Rhodes, moving up in weight and having just recovered from an injury - he needs to be sure he is 100% if he was to fight Barker.

 

It'd be a hard fight for Moore to take straight after a defeat like the one he suffered against Rhodes. It'd make much more sense for him to have an easy fight or two to ease himself back into it.

It'd be a great fight for the end of this year or early next year.

 

Shame.

The reasons i've seen are that Moore doesn't want to drop back down to British level, and I agree.
He's already won a Lonsdale belt outright; he should concentrate on improving his ranking with the other major governing bodies, particularly the WBA & IBF (once he gets this comeback fight/warmup outta the way).
Who knows, if Barker's proposed fight with Lajoan Simon goes ahead, this fight could still take place.

 

Barker would beat Moore that's why.

I'm not surprised after been stopped the last thing he wants is to get stopped in his MW debut.

 

Moore thinks he is above British level....what a numpty. He has fought one euro class fighter and lost.

Would have been a good fight, especially for Barker. He needs the names on his record now and the step up. However I can see why Moore wouldn't want the fight at the moment. Hopefully it will happen later on.

 

moore is on the come back trail, and taking out of the equation the best fighters fighting each other, why would moor risk barker right now when he needs to get his own name back up in lights.
And to be totally honest what has barker done to warrant the opportunity of fighting a marque name such as moore? Fair enough moore lost to rhodes in what was a possible foy.
Mind you having said all of tat with moore looking at moving up in weight, i suppose he needs to build his credentials at MW.
