After reading some articles and sensing the general sentiment with Arum & his people. Is Josh Clottey a sacrificial lamb?

The guy seems out of his league in the biggest fight of his life, with very little support from his usual team. Factor the broken training camp with sub-par training conditions vs the fact he is fighting a great fighter in Manny and the guy seems stranded.

In the ESPN article about Clottey it says something to the effect that this is boxing; Josh Clottey is not supposed to win...

If Josh is not supposed to win and Arum seems content to let this man go through one of the worst training camps, whats the point of Manny even fighting? This fight stinks, say what you want, but Manny and Arum have handicapped almost all his fights lately.

I truly HOPE that Clottey erases Pacman's face with one of the same right hands he was tagging Judah with.

Clottey will turn up to fight, no doubt about that. The problem is, he is a good fighter against a truly great one.

Mayweather/Mosley is taking everyone's attention, including mine.
But at the end of the year we'll all be talking about Manny/Clottey. I think Pac wins this but I think we'll be surprised by how events spring up. In other words it might be a war.

It's a PPV championship fight designed for one guy to win. In many ways it is a farce. None the less, it's a nice fight for Manny. Clottey will give him some good rounds.

Exactly. This fight is almost a fixed fight imo. PAc will retire after his fight with Clottey, and leave boxing the cheater he is suspected to be. Good post...bravo lol...

how the hell is that a farce? so everytime one guy is supposed to win, the fight is a farce in your eyes? clottey is no mosley but i think he is a really good challenge, specially because this is only pac's third fight in this weight. actually his second because he fought cotto at 145.

this is boxing bro. it doesnt matter who was designed to win. it takes a single punch to end ones night. if this was matthew hatton or some other dude fighting pac, sure call it a farce. but clottey is a huge welterweight who has a good chin and can punch.

if you call this a farce, then there should be no other fights for pac AND mayweather if not against each other because they will all farce in your eyes.

in fact, let's just cancel all fights where one of the fighters is better on paper because those are all farce too right?

    Farce NO.

But Clottey is without a doubt a sacrificial lamb. You think Arum, and Roach would let this fight happen if Clottey wasn't?

EXACTLY. any fighter who pac could have chosen would be considered a farce. only mayweather, berto, and mosley could be considered better than clottey at 147 and at that time mosley and berto were scheduled to fight.

who could pac have fought that would not have been a farce? come of you guys are too tough on pac. and to think a few years back, you were all saying that juan diaz would kill him at 135 now you're all saying that a fight with a legit 147 whose losses could all have easily been wins is a farce.
