I can't really get into watching Pryor-Arguello (because I've never really studied either of them) and Holmes-Cooney.

Riddick Bowe has a really tragic story, shows immense courage in the first Holyfield fight, then made himself look like a fraud vacating the undisputed title because of his manager..... then the same amount of valour in the 3rd Holyfield fight.

Beyond that, there's the two fights with Golota.... in the first he took a consistent beating, but it's the 2nd round of the rematch that sickens me the most.

I don't blame the referee for not stopping it, after all Bowe WAS protecting himself and throwing back (albeit arm punches) - I think Lampley said that it was the most amount of punishment a heavyweight has ever had to take in a major fight.

Bankrupt as well now :-(

 

the fight and the aftermath of the ray mancini v duk-koo kim fight would imo make a gripping dark film with the ill fated losers mother flying into be with her son before they switched off his life support machine having never left korea before then her subsequent suicide and the suicide of the referee and then to finish it off duk koo kims wife then gave birth to his son 8 months after his death,

 

Boxing seems to have more sad stories than happy ones. Frank Bruno owning a mansion but choosing to sleep in his ring could make a very poignant film scene.

Roy Jones and Evander Holyfield's continuing careers are pretty sad to watch, more so in Evander's case though. All he needs now is to end up in the ring with someone like Wlad Klitschko or David Haye and it could really turn ugly :verysad

 

The Holmes-Cooney Legendary Nights is a very good watch. Theres footage of some great Larry Holmes press conferences.

 

I wish I didn't even read this post now...

It doesn't get a lot worse than that

 

For me i go for Chavez-Taylor because of the ending and it was a great battle. Hagler-Hearns as well...just love Hagler's intensity. I can't wait till they do some more...i hope they do that's for sure.

 

Yeah I could watch that one over and over, both come across really well with candid interviews and respect for each other.

This is obviously more from Mancinis perspective but its a superb docu on his career and the ill fated Kim fight.

 

i know wat u mean the ending with his wife giving birth is so hollywood that not even they could have written a more emotional ending

 

A pet hate of mine is when posters on here get their opinion on a fight or fighter soley from an episode of Legendary Nights they've watched and treat is as being written in stone because it was "on the TV".

 

Yeah deffo..and also Cotto-Margarito because of the aftermath.
