Should Kessler and Froch get more credit for entering the Super 6?

Taylor was lucky really to be included coming off a KO loss and was seeing it as a quick way at getting a title shot, he had nothing to lose in that respect in entering. I feel bad for Taylor and wish him well in his future he was a fighter whos attitude I admired but any fighter can have there career ruined by any fight, its a risk they all take.
Dirrell was still green and this competition gave him a short cut against world champs that alot of confident fighters would accept, it was sink or swim but he had alot less to lose in getting an early tiyle shot than a champ does in losing to an untested not to well known fighter.
Everyone put something big on the line but not as big as Kessler and Froch coming in with world titles

We may just have to agree to disagree. For one, you say a fighter can have his career ruined by any fight which is true...then why should I give it any more credit than a title defense?

Secondly, I still think putting your career on the line is more than losing a belt. For instance, Kessler lost his belt but he has a chance to get Froch's belt in a few months. Jermain Taylor, whether you think he deserved to be in there or not, may never get another chance. He put his career on the line to get a belt but more importantly to get back in the public eye and redeem himself. Which leads me to my next point.

Another point of contention is, in my eyes, Froch or Kessler can lose their belts and yet improve their legacies significantly. That's an opportunity that is hard to pass up if you're 1)trying to improve your financial prospects and 2). aspiring for greatness.

I don't think your wrong per se, I just think we view things differently.

:good Exactly...All the fighers are coming in with an equal amount of things to lose in respect to them. Losing a belt is not the end of the world and if your the true champ you should be able to keep it or get it back...

You rush your career too fast...you ruin you career and you will never get it back...

See your point, just if you lose your title and get eliminated from the super 6 you are on the outside, out of the public eye a bit more, and without your title for recognition/financial rewards, which is what the champs risked going in.
If Dirrell or Ward get/got beat or eliminated, it would just be thought they were green fighters taking a risk, and are young enough to come again. If the champs get beaten and are out of the competition early it wont improve there legacies, which is something good fighters do without this competition anyway. But I do agree they all deserve respect, just Kessler and Froch a bit more

What bums do the 2 fighters entering the division as champs fight (Kessler and Froch) in their own back yards?
Kessler fought Calzaghe away, Mundine away, Haussler away and Ward away so I dont think hes guilty of fighting bums in his backyard, not to mention Lucas, Andrade, Beyer and Siaca at home and.....
Froch made his 1st defence away to Taylor and is making his 3rd defence away to Kessler and at home won his vacant title against undefeated now WBC LHW champ Pascal and made his 2nd defence against undefeated Dirrell, so I dont think hes guilty of fighting bums in his own backyard either.
    Do you?
