First thing I thought when I clicked on here is that how this plays out probably depends on Paul Williams. Although I think it's more Goosen than PW. If Goosen is willing to drop his rather ludicrous demand for a 50-50 co-promotion, Pavlik will no doubt stay at 160 at least long enough to get that done. That would not leave Bute with much to choose from. Maybe we'll get real lucky and get a double header: Pavlik/Williams, Dawson/Bute.
Unless it's Dawson who's going down to 168. I remember him saying he could make the weight if he wanted to...
He's been at 175 for a while now, though. My guess is it would be a catchweight of some sort. Shouldn't be too tough to agree on.
A catchweight should be ok for both men. I'd like to see Bute facing Pavlik first, then Dawson. If he does that and wins both fights (in fact, three fights if I include Edison Miranda), Bute would be in a good position to force the super six winner to face him for the champ spot. That would be an excellent year for him. April the 17th has to come first. Six weeks to go!
