OK. Just watched the second video and Roger seems alot more like the subtly, charasmatic character that he is... Still though, I continue to worry about him and Floyd Snr. They seem to have ALOT of emotional baggage.
Juan Manuel marquez does'nt study tapes of his opponants either. He prefers to go into the ring and figure out thier styles and then make adjustments. Most boxers watch fights, they're fans it's thier life. They have trainers to study the tapes and make a game plan. Not a new thing.
We've known this a while. Remember Floyd's post-fight interview for N'dou? He mentioned how Roger told him he would have a field day over the left with his pullcounter in that one. Even with Floyd's intuitives, it wouldn't be smart to overlook study of an opponent altogether.
watching tapes of fighter can be a plus as well as a curse .. A perfect example of a curse is Hatton in both his KO losses he thought he saw a weakness or pattern in both Floyd and Pac while watching tapes of both fighters.. Well guess what , He got KTFO both times looking for those glitches or opening that never presented themselves that he though he saw on the tapes. I think he may been watching the guys who getting their ass whooped in those tapes, instead of pac and floyd. Good fighter will alway bring something new to each fight, because they know that fight plan they used on fighter A wont work with fighter B, They know the opening and mistake they were able to get away with , with fighter A will cost them their ass with fighter B. So watching tapes can be a bad thing, instead worrying about what your opponent is doing you be focus on what your suppose to be doing and what your plans are. Even bruce lee stated that a good fighter will never fight in the same set pattern. Arrogance and disrespect is coming into a fight half prepared mentally and physically , Floyd has done nether ..
Dunno why it's so hard to believe that a fighter doesn't analyze tape. That's the trainer's job, generally. Most football players don't study tape either, they let the coach do that. And, as was said, there's a difference between watching boxing and analyzing an opponent on tape.
Thank you watching tape is a luxury, old time fighter in the 20, 30 and 40s who fought 5 to 10 a month didn't have the time or luxury to watch tapes, they adapted from fight to fight. Even in the amateurs you never knew who you were fighting you just fought.
I've never actually listened to a word Roger Mayweather has ever said. Not knowingly or intentionally.
Floyd doesn't need to worry about the game plan, that is Roger's job. All Floyd does is train, under the guidance of Roger. The strategy comes into play during the fight. It really isn't that hard to understand.. The way Floyd fights (he is a boxer) allows him to adjust to his opponent, and he has been physically gifted enough to execute whatever needed be to this day.
You are an idiot! Learn to understand WORDS first and then the sentences will be understandable! People really do get so personal with Floyd huh? Like when Clottey/Marquez say they doesnt watch tapes NOOOOOOOOOO problem, when PBF says it. Oh he a Liar blah blah blah! Some fans really need a reality check! atsch
it's true what roger says. speed is not everything if you don't know how to use it. yes mosley knows how to use his speed, but he's not technically as good as floyd, and he's definitly not as smart as floyd in that ring. it's also true what roger says about pacquiao aswell, you can't force pacquiao to fight mayweather. if pacquiao isn't going to take some easy tests that floyd would also be taking, then the fight doesn't happen, and in my opinion, that's pacquiao's fault.
