Class less attitude thats all. Noticed how scums are the one most likely to boast what they have while draging the others down? Come on guys we all met these type of people before. Im sure you can see those type of people in floyd.
I personally find Floyds constant need to prove his wealth rather crass. I come from a older school of sensibilities where lauding ones wealth over others is vulgar and lacks class. He is a product of our modern day society where the accumalation of wealth seems a major focus and is admired and praised. Look at our current celebrity culture. We give Paris Hilton, who has no discernible talent, an inordinate amount of attention and wealth through this celebrity. Floyd is showing his wealth because it is so celebrated to do so and flaunting one wealth is no longer seen as a bad thing by our main stream media. Floyd clearly values money over most things including his legacy but at least he is honest about that.
First of all, he could take ONE million and he'd still be "providing for his family" and "being prosperous." Earning several million for an hour's work while billions are living in abject poverty is vulgar. I can accept that it's part of the capitalist system though, so I won't complain about it. But to constantly talk about how much money you make is a sign of insecurity and the actions of an A-grade *******. He will still be "providing for his family" and "being prosperous" if he just quietly earns however many millions as he can get and doesn't talk **** about it at every opportunity like a spoiled 10-year-old.
True, but he doesn't really need to say anything about it. Why does he feel the need to constantly tell us how important money is to him? Fine, he is being honest but unless he is asked the direct question why mention which is most important? Agree with the rest of your post. :good
No, he isn't. He is saying that, but I have yet to see any explanation of how this is possible. He'll make somewhere in the 10-20 million range.
LOL we got foreman's grills as well. My parent didnt even know who he was, they bought it anyway cause they heard good things about it
Because as far as I remember his haters talk a lot about how much he's making and recently made the "Mayweather in debt" rumor the hottest discussion. He's keeping them updated as they want to.
Thats a great psychological profile on PBF. Unfortunately, you're a ****ing idiot and you have no idea what you're talking about. A fair take on the situation would be that he brags about how much money he makes because to him, money= everything...power,status, etc. Its not uncommon for a person who comes from a poor family, background etc to put that much importance on money. The human brain and psyche is built to survive. You're motivated by pain and pleasure. Behavior is learned. He gets a reaction and is noticed in the way he behaves. He's like the annoying kid that does anything for attention. Comebine extreme insecurity and poverty and twist it with money and fame and you get PBF. People talk about how great they are when they want you to believe it because they need approval. They dont truly believe it themselves. So in reality, his on camera persona is definitely an act. He's kind of like the Paris Hilton of boxing. If he truly believed being a man was about providing for his family, he wouldnt flash his cars etc. He would talk more about providing for his family. But he doesnt. He chooses to brag about how much he makes and how much someone else doesnt. Im not saying he's a bad guy. He's just insecure, loves attention and knows how to get public interest for a fight. he definitely is a shrewd business man by accident.
This thread attempted to talk about a subject that hasn't been talked about before ("because he's an ******* or he's greedy" are standard answers, but I wanted to talk about it a little more seriously) WITHOUT making excuses for him or condemning him, I'm just stating what I see. This is not traditional ******* vs PBFtard discourse, I'm neither, I don't give a ****. And yet, despite all this the thread got cluttered with "no way he's making 40" even thouh this subject has been covered three times over in 10 threads. So please, don't post unrelated stuff, if the subject doesn't interest you, and I can't imagine it would interest many people, move on, if you don't have an opinion beyond "he's a douche", please, move on. Who's making excuses??? Yeah, that's why we all love him and that's why every other celeb is flaunting how much $ they make. Yes, but our emotions and motivation are not rational. If you eat three pieces of chocolate you have enough energy to last you half a day, but we all know how many people can't stop at half a bar. You see? Bill Gates has provided for a continent of families, and yet he was still, until recently, as Roger said, "still making them mother****ing computers". How is this different than what I wrote??? You're a simpleton. We've established that to him money is a measure of a man's success. Can you understand that? That means that, to him, money is what to us and most other fighters resumes are. You understand? His saying "I'm making 40 Pac's making 6", is equivalent to Pac saying "I beat Cotto, Barrera etc etc, who's PBF beat?". You see? It's also, of course, sometimes a part of the heel act, but a lot of the times you see that these kind of statements (about how much money he's made) are honest statements of pride and conentment. He's happy because, by his standards, he's done all he could have done in life and more.
