valero moving up to 140? who's he fighting?

everything is going well for him at LW so why is he moving up?

hes not pulling another amir khan is he? although i can understand khan moving up as he wasnt suited to being at LW imo.

If Marquez goes down than he is the best, but it dont look like thats gonna happen. So ill go with Valero, if he moves up. Id say its a tossup between Soto and Funeka.

Both Marquez and Valero are going to be at 140...

Valero told the wbc he wanted to move up they oddly did not strip him... he is set to consider his options as he heals. Soto is fighting for the interim title

Nacho wanted Marquez to move up to 140 after the Floyd fight as he said Marquez looked good at that weight

  7. Christ, do you guys even FOLLOW boxing??? Valero is campaigning @ 140 now.

As of right now, I consider JMM to still be a Lightweight since he rejected the terms of the Khan fight. It's kinda obvious he doesn't really want to campaign at that weight if he rejected a fight with Khan. So...

    1. JMM
    2. Funeka
    3. Soto (if he beats Diaz next weekend)
    4. Guzman
    5. Katsidis

REad an article on another site stating that Richard Schafer is set to make a fight for JMM at lightweight next week. Marquez wants to return to the division. Imo he's still the best at 135.

He hasn't fought at 140 yet, so he is still ranked at 135. He hasn't even got a fight planned at 140 and his last fight was a WBC lightweight championship fight. Don't try to be so clever, smartass.

Especially when you then consider JMM a 135 fighter, even though in his last fight, he weighed in at 142. He hasn't fought at LW for more than a year.

    Do you even follow boxing?

    I have it:

    1. Valero
    2. Funeka
    3. Guzman
    4. Katsidis
    5. Reyes

Soto hasn't fought at 135 yet, but if he beats David Diaz he moves up to #3.

Didn't Funeka and Guzman fight at 140? Not sure though.

  13. Well, I know you don't follow boxing because you obviously must've missed the part where Valero relinquished the belt he just won...so he could move up to Jr. Welter...because there are bigger fights for him there AND he was having problems making 135. Is that clear enough for you? And if JMM was going to campaign @ 140 he would've taken the Khan fight...no doubt in my mind. As far as Soto, well, he's fought as high as 140 and he just fought Chavez @ 135.

I know he's moving up, but you can't remove him from the rankings before he's actually moved up. At the very least it is a debatable case, and no need to say "Do you guys actually follow boxing?". It can easily be argued that he is still a 135'er, until he actually fights at 140. So you rank him at 135 because he didn't take a fight with Khan? He didn't fight there for a year and suddenly he is #1? He fought Chaves with both weighing in at 137, so that is above the 135 limit.

Well, JMM is coming back to 135 so he's still the man at lightweight.
