Agreed. If Toney fails miserably in his first fight how can they ever market a boxer coming to MMA again?

Kimbo was busting nelson up on the feet, it was when the fight went to the ground that Kimbo lost it .. he failed to KO Houston Alexander the guy who ran the whole fight and was kicked off the ufc for running, that Houston Alexander ? Not only that Kimbo went weighing 250 to 215 in two months so of course he not going to have a lot left in reserves he was completely drained .. Second tony weight gain is not due to age, it due to the fact that he is lazy and gains weigh when not training. based on that fact alone tony is not going to have the cardio to keep big charging guy like that from taking you to the ground. If tony fight Kimbo or any heavyweight at this stage of his career he's going to get hurt .. Tapping to punches counts if your getting your brains beat in.
true kimbo does have legs like noodles and tony has legs like hillshire sausages and a gut like a barrel of whoppers.
I really hope they make that fight but only standing up and only with punches. That would be fun to watch !
I've learned not to underestimate really intelligent fighters. Toney is no exception. Don't judge a book by the cover...he's still dangerous.
Toney and especially Mayorga doing MMA is killing Kirk right now. I'm rerally interested to see how Toneys chin stands up because if he was still in boxing he'd be up their with Mosley has haveing probably the best chin in the game. Toney is one hell of a tough, tough *******.
They could, because the truth is that Toney is old, way past his prime and way above his natural and best fighing weight. This is not a young 168lb Toney fighting at 170, because if it was the boxing and MMA world would be going bat **** crazy to see that beast fight at welterweight in the UFC. :shock: Could you imagine who pumped boxing fans would be and how nervous MMA fans would be for that?
And if Toney even connected with Jab, GSP would melt like an ice cream cone into the mat. I loved seeing Serra pound the **** out of him in their first match. Seeing Hughes face during the match was priceless.

I dont have a problem with Kimbo as he actually seems like a decent bloke,but for a bloke that made his bread and butter in bare knuckle street fights i was dissapointed when watching Mercer bout. He didnt want a part in the stand up side of things going straight for the tackle.I guess in the end its all about having a good game plan and walking away with the win. Kombo wont stand with Toney if the bout comes off..If he does he will keep away for 1and half rounds like the Alexander fight..
