    Uhhhh...

Lacy may or may not be dissapointed with himself. But every fight I have seen him in; were mostly awesome. Almost all of them except one. where is the dissapointment here?

His fights were completely entertaining. COMPLETELY. If you are looking at his career in anger and resentment because of your favorite fighters or saying ' who has he ever fought to get so much praise '

    YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.

His style couldnt win against the more fragile type who like to run around and dance, make people miss . The odds of him winning those type of fights are minimal at best. Look at Fraizer, Tyson, Qwawi, Tua . They all get beat by someone that

    can move AWAY fast:deal

Their style is what makes most of their losing efforts exciting. They make the other guy look good. That running man type of fighter. Always has.

He should be dissapointed if he never broke the top 50 in the division. And lost to some guys in the lower 100 ranks. that would be a dissapointment:deal

    Same with Taylor.

i would point out that if every fighter had the sack to get into the ring w/ level of comp taylor has...we may be wondering "what happened" to a lot more fighters out there.

Taylor should think long and hard about retirement. He is a very popular fighter and no one wants to see him KO'ed again.

Lacy is middle level now days he might have another pay day left in him but he is not going to achieve anything else.

I never seen a fighter ruined (or exposed depending on who you ask) the way Lacy was by Calzaghe. He never knocked out another opponent. Heck, all his win since were close decisions to guys no one would thought would have lasted 6 rounds with him pre-Calzaghe.

I never said his fights weren't exciting but didn't you expect more from him? Did you expect him to lose to RJJ?

Taylor's 'taking a break'. He's still training though - his hunger hasn't gone. He's just gonna take a break and recover.

Calzaghe ruined Lacy for good - he was never the same after that one sided humiliation. As for Taylor, things may have turned out differently had he stopped Pavlik in their first fight. He was damn close. It must have been soul destroying for him to throw his best at Pavlik, have him finished and then get stopped.

A lot of things happened to Lacy. He had a lot of flaws that he was able to get away with in a weak division and the fact that he had an equalizer in his power. Calzaghe absolutely manhandled him and he never had a good fight after that. He won incredibly close decision against guys like Peter Manfredo Jr, Epifanio Mendoza, and Otis Griffin while being absolutely hammered by Jermain Taylor and really completely humiliated by THIS version of Roy Jones Jr.

Some of this is because he was pretty reliant on his power and his rotator cuff injury was severe; 97% of the bone. After the operation his weaknesses came to the forefront...his defense was incredibly leaky he got tagged at will by quick guys like Taylor and Jones but even Mendoza was tagging him pretty easily in their fight. He was never particularly fast so after the surgery he was a guy without much power and without the quickness to use in his advantage. He's shot at this point and for him it's unfortunate that he was pushed before he was ready.

    Calzaghe ruined Lacy's career.
