Round 2- Miguel listen to me. Hold on Miguel drink some water Miguel. Ey Miguel listen to me. You doin good baby, just keep doing what you're doin baby. Keep doing what we worked on. Keep doin what we worked on.

-Fast forward to end of round 7-

Buddy: Miguel listen to me. Ey listen to me Miguel. You ain't usin the jab baby. You ain't usin the jab like I told you to. Remember to do what we worked on.

    Cotto: I win the round?

Buddy: It doesn't matter! You ain't doin what we worked on Miguel! You gotta pop the jab baby! Pop the jab! Keep poppin that jab! Make it a dog fight baby! Make it a dog fight! Drink some water.

Cotto: But I'm winning the fight?

    Buddy: Doesn't matter!

    -Fast forward to round 10-

Buddy: That's it Miguel. We're stopping it. I'm stoppin it Miguel. You ain't doin what we worked on baby. You ain't doin what we worked on and...it just ain't happening.

    Miguel: But Buddy I'm winning!

Buddy: Doesn't matter. I ain't seein it today Miguel baby. You just ain't doin enough. You ain't doin enough for me today Miguel. Just not doin what we worked on. Ey ref! We're stoppin it!

Lampley- They're stopping the fight in Miguel Cotto's corner!

Merchant- UNBELIEVABLE! McGIRT IS STOPPING THE FIGHT EVEN THOUGH MIGUEL WAS WINNING THE FIGHT!

Lampley- He was winning every round! He knocked Yuri Foreman down three times, twice in the last round! This is unprecedented!

Merchant- They have a saying in New York for when something is poorly done or of poor quality called booty. This stoppage...was booty.

Lampley- Uh....Alright well let's go to Harold Lederman for his card prior to the stoppage.

McGirt is an okay coach. He just has a lot of flawed fighters and isn't good enough to get the most out of them.

Basically he's a good coach for B level guys but he's no miracle worker.

He runs a tremendous conditioning program. Having spoken to Buddy and his son, I can say he certainly knows what he's doing. He runs good camps, keeps fighters in shape and is a pretty straight forward guy.

Up until the time the opening bell rings

I was kinda hoping him and his unc would get back together. I bet training was a lot less enjoyable under evangelista but his "straight to business" attitude is what gave Cotto an edge over everyone he fought.

McGirt isn't the guy then. Buddy's training camps are extremely strict.

It's what happens on Fight Night that earns McGirt his dubious legacy as a trainer
