Tex Cobb vs. Joe Hipp

After comparing both of their records at boxrec. It seems like Cobb has the clear advantage.

 

Hipp was a fat slow lazy fvck.....he could never beat Tex Cobb.

its a tuff call..id say you might have to make cobb the favourite but, i'll take hipp in a tuff SD

 

hipp had skill if you ever seen him fight and had good power....cobb was a punching bag.....

:think:think:think:think Im thinking you have probably never seen Hipp fight. He would take the fight to opponents and was pretty exciting,far from Lazy. You probably seen a picture of him and guessed he was lazy in the ring. :nono Not true.

 

hipp would beat the dog **** out of guys like briggs, mascaev, chagaev...he was around in the wrong era....

 

Nope saw Hipp fight many times on the tube.....he wasn't really any good, unless you are looking for night club doorman.:bart

 

Hipp would outwork Cobb and win a decision.
Hipp WAS NOT lazy. He worked hard and smart in his fights and never backed down.

 

I picked Cobb by decision based solely on the "prime vs prime". The Cobb that beat Shavers beats Hipp via close decision. As far as the fat and lazy description, that better suits Cobb after the Holmes fight. Tex let himself go seemingly after the Holmes fight. Hipp was a good, tough fighter. I never forgave Cobb for showing overweight and losing to the PKA guy by decision.
