But that version of Toney would cross train more and come to win, hopefully.

Toney's accuracy and punching power will be lethal with 4oz gloves on. :scaredas:

eh i dont doubt his power but his style has always been reliant on tactfully dissecting his opponents and i can see him now going out there thinking hes gonna shoulder roll and pot shot and learn real fast that mma striking is diverse and extremely unpredictable.

my feeling towards toney are indifferent but i have noticed his power isnt generated by his strength but more so on his precision and timing, with his pedigree no mma fighter would give him the comfort of staying in the pocket with him without smothering him only this time the ref dosent break it up.

got off topic slightly but the posts i was referring to from sherdog are directed at his boxing career, you dont honestly believe he hits harder then every heavyweight in mma today do you?

Toney, at HW, just with his technic, is the guy with the best chance to KO everyone with just one shot.

Yeah he will get killed by anyone, but do not stand with him and try to box with him..
keep him at bay with legkicks, but do not box with him.

That type of talent is very rare, he know how to connect, and with those little glove, he is the one with the best shot to KO ANYONE with one shot. And he doesnt have the best power, not even close, a guy like Carwin hits harder than him, but Toney is way more dangerous.

    No, he doesn't.

    No, he doesn't.

No, he doesn't. Not even close.

Actually, it's about a good a match as he'll possibly get in the UFC. You couldn't ask for a better one, really.

Kimbo vs Toney would be a great idea. Street fighter vs Professional Fighter.

It's not always how much muscle you got, how hard you hit, etc. It's accuracy, timing, speed, experience, etc. Toney in boxing was a tecnical fighter, but what's to say he couldn't sit there and bang? Not everybody who hits hard just stands there and trades, or even puts all there power behind every punch really.
Toney is a pretty big guy (even though overweight), he's highly accurate, he's going to have some little ass gloves, he's been punching people for many years (as opposed to most MMA who don't even know how to throw a proper punch). Compared to MMA fighters (who don't throw many punches, and aren't used to taking many punches) Toney probably would hit them like a freakin FREIGHT TRAIN! So, no he's not that incredibly strong, and probably didn't hit extremely hard in boxing going against guys who weigh 250, and have boxed all there lives as well.
Put some 4 oz gloves on him, maybe a smaller guy, a guy who's never took to many punches while standing, and if this guy gets off some punches he's going to murder em.

Why would anybody think Kimbo would beat Toney?

Kimbo's hardly a seasoned veteran himself when it comes to integrated MMA crosstraining (and has not exactly demonstrated leaps and bounds in improvement) and his pre-MMA "striking" credentials are literally a joke compared to Toney's.

This is all stupid. Couture submits Toney in 30 seconds....Kimbo takes James down and with his superior strength ground and pounds him within 90 seconds. No way any MMA fighter will stand and try to exchange strikes with Toney.
