This must be over done, I know, but I wanted to know what you guys thought. I'll break it down. Ali has been known for his fast hands and feet, obviously one of the fastest heavyweights ever, his hand speed may even be faster then Tysons. His Incredible chin is also VERY important in this fight. He took punches from Shavers, Foreman, Frazier, Patterson, Liston, Lyle, Boneavana, and Holmes, but still didn't go down. He also has a reach advantage on Tyson. His heart is also one of the best in history. Tyson has incredible hand speed and head movement, he could possibly slip Ali's jab. Tyson has power advantages over Ali, he definately hits harder. I don't think that would be a factor in the first place because Ali could take any punch. Who do you think would win?
66' ali vs 88' tyson?? I'd have to say ali for the reach and ability to hold a guy when he comes in. Although tyson back then used to scare the **** out of me. I remember being a kid and thinking he was a monster.
I normally side with the modern heavyweight, but in this case I think Ali finds a way to win it. Tyson in his prime was great, but Ali was outstanding
tyson is overated still fatastic and very etertaining but stll not as good as some would have you believe
Tyson has a punchers chance.ALI has the speed, footwork and will stop him in the later rounds ALI schools him and then takes him out late.
Ali, before the bell even rung. Still one of the better mythical match-ups to think about all-time, imho. An 88' Tyson was capable of beating anyone.
Ali KO's a prime Tyson in 12.... but I wouldn't be surprised if Ali suffered a knockdown from a lunging Tyson left hook.
Yep. I'd give prime Tyson an even chance against any other heavy in history due to the great equaliser he had in both fists, but against Ali it would be meaningless. 1966 Ali beats any heavy that ever lived - easily.
