Im a massive fan of Ricky but by Devon Alexander stopping Urango it just further backs up Ricky doesnt belong in there with todays animals of the 140 lb divsion .

He went life and death with a worse version of Urango and bang Alexander's got him out of there , doesnt look good for Hatton this bearing in mind Urango is one of Hatton's notable career wins .

    Thoughts ???.......................

I think it means nothing TBH... Hatton beat him on Pts and Alexander stopped him...:yep Both had different fight stratgies but got the desired result...:yep

Let's not draw comparisons if Hatton and Alexander fought now as I think Hattons punch resistance has gone and he is never the fighter he was when he peaked v Kostya Tsyzu...:yep

When Hatton lost to Manny he was considered the no 1 LWW in the world , Manny as we all knew had bigger fish to fry , so whats changed on the Hatton front .................. ??

I'll tell you what , there is a new breed of LWW's and there better than the opposition Ricky fought on his way to a lineal world title amongst others , the comparison im drawing up is that the new breed would give Hatton fits in any era at any time of his career .

And trust me im a Hatton fanatic but these are the true facts .

Doesnt really mean a thing it was over 3 years ago. Hatton outboxed him rather easily and Alexander Koed him so what?

Hatton largely out boxed him until he gassed and hung on for dear life , didnt trouble him , didnt rock him or hurt him , Alexander stopped him , big difference .

Alexander sparks him. Ricky knows it, so you'd better talk about it because no way in the world that it happens.

Berto didnt even stop Urango at Welterweight and that was only 10 months ago, does that mean Alexander is a better fighter than Berto??

Pound for pound i rate him higher than Berto if your asking but that isnt the point im making . See original post to the point of the thread .

    Reminder :

Does Hatton belong in the mix with todays top LWW's ????

Cotto didnt stop Malignaggi Ricky did. Berto didnt stop Urango but Alexander did. Mayweather didnt stop Castillo twice but Hatton did in 4 rounds. We could go on and on and on.

Well on them examples we could go on a little bit , and say :

Malignaggi was stopped ridiculously pre mature and Castillo will never fight a top level opponent ever again as he is clearly shot .

Devon Alexander is 22 years old and holds 2 world title's the proof is in the pudding .

Urango looked better post Hatton fight against Ngoudjo , Vilches and in parts Berto than he did pre Ricky , imo , i think Alexander beat the best Urango to date by TKO .
