Well that ain't gunna happen is it? And you wanna hear from the CSAC - they appoint the officials for ALL world title fights.
What happened to the no excuses for Zappa? 3 pounds does make a difference Ash. So does 2 weeks notice that Angulo got to take the fight. The three pounds was inconsequential in the ring...Angulo was just too experienced and moved too well for Zappa. Flip of the coin? bs. One clear winner in that fight. 9-3, 8-4 Angulo. Funny you mention Angulo not scoring with his punches, other than some nice body work, what did Lenny hit Angulo with? You can never be sure if Angulo will make weight but if he had a decent prep and did make 135 he would have beat Lenny even easier than what he did today.
Flam, I'm sure GBP (Golden Boy Promotions) love your thought process about Lenny being their prospect, however I'm sure GSP (Gary Shaw Productions) might be a bit miffed!!!
I watched the replay and scored the fight instead of just watching it. I am surprised but no doubt in my mind now that the aussie won. Most of Angulos shots were on gloves or not landing at all. The blood looked bad for LZ and generally it appeared that Angulo threw more punches but when you look closer LZ won imo. Having said that I think there were four or more rounds too close to call.
It could have been, sure. But 116-111 x 2 was ridiculous. 114-113 Zappa I can take. Even then, I thought he lost the fight, but the scorecards just made it silly.
Good to see Zappa win, but disappointing to see him win in this manner. I don't care which boxer wins this way, it's just an indictment on the sport to see results like this handed. I thought Angulo won by a couple but with the point deduction knew it would be a close decision. A 116-111 scorecard in favour of Zappa is ludicrous. Put it this way, if results like this are being handed at the top level of the sport, how many fighters in the am's are losing career opportunities and turning away from the sport due to such decisions and politics. A rematch would be nice, but unlikely, ala Dib - Marali.
the scorecard were a bit lopsided but i didnt see a robbery, i had a few but i scored it 7-5 for angulo so with the point of thats 114-113 right. the fight had alot of close rounds and could of gone either way, but that doesnt make a robberry.the fight reminded me alot of the mosley-mayorga fight a little while ago without the last second ko, very messy lots of punches looking like they landed, but were blocked or slippped, but one fighter landing the better shots i think there is a bit of over reacting by a few people who just watched the figh6t and by atleast one who hasnt watched itatsch this was no robbery anyway go zappaaaaaaa long way to go still, but you can do it
WTF is wrong with you guys, can't you read? This content is protected never said the fight was a robbery, as I clearly said I hadn't seen it. What I said was that robberys are never good for the sport, and that I'm happy that Zappa won, but I'm not happy This content is protected it's on the wrong terms.
There is a handy rule I use when in doubt. Take a look at both fighters faces after the fight. The one with the pizza face is the one that lost. End of discussion.
