HBO did a good job of hyping Alexander. It looks like Alexander will fight his next fight in St. Louis in the summer. If he can get an impressive turnout and win in impressive style, the other guys at 140 will have to fight him. It's all about money. If Alexander can generate some money, the fights will come.

As long as he has a belt, he'll never be anyone's mando.

So Darryl are you trying to imply that non-Black fighters are avoiding Bradley and Alexander?

I'm not accusing you of saying that, I'm just trying to get an idea of the theme of this thread.

    :huh hmmmm...

Forgive me if I appear to have misconstrued your post here. But are you suggesting there is a divide between black fighters, and non-black fighters?

That means nothing. If you want to avoid someone, you'll gladly give up your mando status or simply avoid being put in a position where you are the mando.

I see your point, alexander should be praised here he's the real deal and would probably beat everyone at 140 right now. I think Alexander like Bradley will be ducked by all the other big names at 140 forcing Bradley and Alexander to fight. I would love to see Alexander-Ortiz or Alexander-Maidana but it most likely won't happen. I think that Alexander will have a following in St. Louis hell Spinks drew 20,000 fans Alexander can do that if not more due to his style. I see King putting these St.Louis fighters like Alexander, Spinks nad Lattimore on a big card in St. Louis.

It seems pretty clear that's what he's implying. There's a lot of politics in boxing, and as a result, a lot of good potential fights never get made. I don't believe that race is ever specifiaclly a reason a fight doesn't get made. If Devon was with Golden Boy, he would have very little trouble getting a fight with Khan or Marquez, or Ortiz, or Madaina. If Devon was a big draw., he could get a fight with anyone as well.

Well, if Bradley and Alexander feel avoided, they can always fight each other. Damn, what a fight that would be! My only problem is that I like both guys, they are great fighters and good kids, and I'd hate to see one of them lose, but that's boxing. But Devon didn't "screw himself". It all about marketing, and with HBO and fans in St. Louis he's in a much better position than Bradley on Showtime. The only one who could screw Alexander is Don King, who's clearly past his prime and fighting rarely could hurt Devon's growing stardom.
