Its amazing how many ppl on these forums cant score a fight properly , There is no way you can score Mosley vs Cotto for Mosley let alone Malignaggi fight , it seems to me that from some time , ppl started to use close fights to bash fighters they do not like, with their "he arguably lost that fight" phrase. Even when there was a clear winner. Its not like every close fight could've gone either way.

I've noticed that on discussions about Taylor vs B-hop too , now after Taylor is done, somehow the majority of posters remember B-hop as the obvious winner who got robbed twice.

I guess nobody has been a champion in the last 6 years. Because Floyd don't fight any top elite welterweight at their primes. Not a worthy fight since the Zab Judah fight.

Why some people keep mentioning PW when talking about welters??? I mean, it has been almost two ****ing years since he fought at 147lbs

It might be because Cotto and Williams were at welterweight AND they never fought.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up Mayweather. You don't consider Cotto the top WW because he didn't fight Mayweather, Williams, but you consider Floyd the best in his era for fighting....... ****

I have been critical of him because he is not an elite boxer like Mayweather and Pacquioa as well as Mosley. However he is a very good boxer.

Yo...I am the Biggest critic of Miguel Cotto. Actually more critical of his Fans than i am of Cotto. His fans honestly believes he a TOP-NOTCH, WORLD-CLASS fighter. When in fact I have always seen him as a "middle of the Road" fighter with "Middle of the Road" skill and OBVIOUS AND GLARING FLAWS!!!

But you are dead wrong about the Torres fight, Corley Fight, Judah Fight, he show big-time heart against Clottey and he did beat Mosley. My opinion of Cotto has always been this...In 2005 I met a poster (I won't mention his name) in Yahoo Chat NBA Hoops...then we started talking Boxing. He asked about his Favorite fighter Cotto. And back in '05 i said: "Cotto's defense is AWFUL (Not just below average) But Just Plain Awful, he gets hit way too much and has VERY POOR Stamina". I Said it in '05, '06, '07, '08 In my now "Infamous" thread "Sorry Cotto Fans, Just Keepin' it real" in '09 and i am saying it Now.

Now with all that being said...he showed the ability to bounce back from adversity with Bombing Torres, he destroyed Corley, Punished Judah, Beat Mosley in a Close but good fight...Survived against Clottey but showed Great Heart. I did have a Problem with a "So-called" World Class fighter fighting Gomez and an Unranked Jennings...but let his fans tell it, it was to "STAY BUSY:-(". All of his Flaws were severely exposed in his two losses. He was destoying Margarito early but the Poor stamina came in Round 6. If he know how to BOX (having a jab doesn't mean your a Boxer) could have easily beat Pacquiao. that why Pacquiao haven't fought a "Real" Boxer yet. The Closest he came to fighting a Boxer was Morales...remember the result?

Cotto never impressed me with his boxing ability, however he did impress me as a man and as a person. Cotto has some great names on his resume, but Bob Arum wouldn't let him fight Floyd and he ducked PW like crazy. I give him credit for the WBA defenses, but that WBO title and the defense that many consider that he lost were nothing more then posturing for Arum's wallet. Even the WBA defenses were dirty, and debatable.

I never understood why when it came to Floyd people were always screaming about Cotto and Margacheato. Both limited fighters, that most (when honest with themselves) would agree that Floyd easily dismantles had they fought.

Cotto could have been much much better.

Unfortunately his promoter screwed him over.

I hope he himself realizes that one day.

Well done on Paul Williams wanting to fight 5 foot 7 Miguel Cotto. You know why Cotto didnt want to fight Williams? Its probably because nobody gives a **** about him and he would be a small welterweight fighting a ****ing MIDDLEWEIGHT!

    LETS REVIEW THE EVENTS!!!!!!!!
Cotto first fight at 147lbs was against Carlos Quintana. After that fight, Cotto tried to fight Margarito (THIS IS A FACT). Margarito chose to fight PW first and then he was going to fight Cotto. But he was surprised by Williams. Meanwhile, Cotto fought Judah. After Judah, Cotto fought fought Mosley (BIGGER FIGHT WITH MORE MONEY THAN FIGHTING WILLIAMS). So, Williams decided to fight Quintana. A boxer Cotto destroyed in 5 rounds. But SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!! WILLIAMS LOST!! So now, a fight against Williams was not interesting anymore. Meanwhile Cotto destroyed Gomez and Marrgarito proved he deserved a fight by destroying Cintron (again)for the IBF tittle. (SUM THAT TO THE MEXICO-PUERTO RICO RIVALRY AND YOU KNOW WHERE THE MONEY IS).
Surprise attacked again and Margarito destroyed Cotto. Williams hasn't fight at Welterweight since then. I AM SORRY, BUT I CANNOT SEE WHEN WAS WILLIAMS DUCKED BY ANYBODY!!!!
