Let's Settle This Once And For All: Mayweather, Jr vs Trinidad at 147?

I would have love to this match.

Who would you favor?
How do you see this fight going?
Would Tito's power be enough to intimidate Floyd to be in an ineffective defensive mode all through out the fight?
Or Floyd would have been too foxy and skilled for Tito?

I like Trinidad here.

A big welterweight, with heavy hands, who can move, I think he can win a decision here.

 

This isnt the first time this match up has been brought. And it wont be the last.

 

As bad as Oscar and Hopkins outboxed Tito I would say it would be a pretty close fight...for about 3 rounds and all Floyd after that.

 

Mayweather, He can stick and roll all night if need be. Won't be easy, and Trinidad had 1 punch KO power at the lower weight classes but Floyd could fight off the back foot.

 

Mayweather. He would run. He would win.

Floyd South of 140 was a real fighter, he threw punches with conviction and made a fight of it.

Since he moved up he has fought nothing but has beens and smaller guys while STILL playing it safe.

That's why I have such a huge problem picturing him in the ring with a prime 147 guy like Trinidad. I think he would get the **** kicked out of him.

 

Although Tito had problems with boxers who could move he was a lot more faster and athletic at 147 vs when he was moving up in weight. Floyd is too small and doesn't have the power to intimidate Tito for 12 Rds. Early rounds will be Floyd as Tito tended to get stronger in later rounds but after the 4 or 5 Rd it's all Tito until he gets Floyd in a corner or against the ropes.

 

yes oscar ran a marathon & hopkins moved well and held tito whenever tito got in range and mayweather does not know how to do any of that but stay on the ropes and roll over so even if tito hits him on the gloves may is gonna feel power and worry about getting without retreating

 

floyd would duck this fight.

Floyd. Better fight would be ODLH vs Floyd at 147, when Oscar was in his prime. Trinidad had lots of power, but he was read by the best boxer he has faced. Floyd would do the same.

 

Yeah, againsed guys like Hatton, Gatti, Baldomir he should look like a master. An old DLH gave him a good fight, Judah made him look a bit ****ing ordinary for 4 odd rounds also, a guy any elite fighter stopped.......master? ****ing master!
