Interesting point. The money for that fight is still there and if one of them loses it could actually make it more likely to happen.
requesting no blood drawn 30 days b4 fight night and then .... oh, then a video release of him getting blood drawn well within that time period for the Hatton fight... that's just 1! YOU know there's lots more.... yeah, yeah, I know you'll try to discredit that one with some kind of obscure, absurd excuse, but it will still remain as a fact.... have a good day now!
I don't understand how a true fan of boxing can tell another fan that he should root against his favorite fighters because "it would be good for boxing", since we all want to see some superfight between two egomaniacs who can't get their heads out of their asses enough to make a fight... It's as if no other boxer matters.. only Pac and Floyd. And this is the exact reason boxing has lost as many fans as it has. Boxers and promoters ducking and cherrypicking in hopes of landing the "Superfight"... What boxing really needs is fighters who will fight anyone in their division instead of hiding behind their "promotional company" or PPV#s...
Youre a Clottey fan, but are you a boxing fan? Clottey will support himself, but if he was a spectator, he might be looking at things differently. Listen, the good of boxing is to have Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao as that's the biggest bout in boxing right now, and probably will be the biggest fight in the last 20 years, so yes of course boxing fans should be rooting for Floyd and pacquiao to win their next fights. Dont get upset just because you're a Clottey fan. What Im saying is true. You know if Clottey beats Pacquiao, and then fought the winner of Floyd-Mosley, then you know in yourself that fight won't be as intriguing as it would of been if Pacquiao fought Floyd.
idiot. you said statements. did he issued a statement when a video surfaced that he was being extracted blood 24 days before a fight? and how is that contradictory? 24 days is still far from fight night and the only thing he doesn't want is to have his blood taken too close to a fight. they even suggested 24 days cut-off but floyd turned it down.
What are you talking about? I'm not saying **** about Floyd. I don't give a **** about him... We're talking about Pac here. Stay focused. Good grief, to say that you guys hate Floyd so much, y'all keep his name in your mouth like abuncha hoes....:-(
\ This has to be one of the most ******ed posts I've seen on here ever. You're not a fan of boxing. You're a fan of boxing business.
so why would be pac responsible for every word roach and arum has to say? roach and arum are different people and have different mindsets and agendas especially arum. even roach wants pac to replace arum as his promoter back then. if a statement was said by either arum or roach that points to their personal opinion, it's theirs only and not pac.
Don't be naive. Pac employs people to be spokespersons. And Pac is well aware of the statements made on his behalf, especially as it relates to the whole drug accusation. And you better believe Roach doesn't just make statements to the media before he and the team discuss the implications of them.
No, you ****ing thick twat. Im interested in seeing the two regarded best boxers in the world today in their respective peak in a bout that would be so immense, that it'll be the most hyped fight in the last possibly 20 years. Two great boxers that would break records, and maybe even possibly break three million viewers. This is the sort of fight that would get new blood into boxing with all the hype that would be surrounding the fight. While you look into the little details, I look into the fight at a much bigger scale than you do, hence why I see more positives out of this fight than you do if pacquiao wins. Carry on getting your butt feelings hurt, but it isnt going to stop what Im saying being true. A Clottey fight with either mosley or floyd wouldn't be as intriguing as if pacquiao fought floyd. get over it.
how predictable this thread would include a discussion of pac vs floyd. to answer the question I'm pulling for Clottey as well because I like the guy. He might be a sore loser sometimes but at least he seems like a down-to-earth fellow, and he certainly deserves another title shot after the very close loss to Cotto.
I see your point and agree but there is something pretty special about a big superfight, the hype, the news coverage etc. Many of my non-gym friends don't really pay attention to boxing yet ask me about Mayweather and Pacquiao all of the time. Getting these two guys together in the ring coming off big wins would be as huge of a fight as many of us will see in our lifetimes. The build up and hype for the fight would be huge and would be fun for all of us. With that being said, I still hope Clottey lays an ass-whooping on Pac Saturday night :smoke
Actually, I'm OK with Clottey not being a superstar. It's part of what makes him. But to say that a person who is a boxing fan has to root for Pac, just so Bob Arum and Oscar can get rich off of some astronomical PPV#s is just plain stupid. Every few years, a fight comes along that's supposed to "save boxing" when boxing doesn't need a superfight to save it. Boxing is doing quite well, and would do much better if more boxers would take chances and fight each other instead of trying to duck and dodge, crafting their careers looking for the superfight.
Exactly. Two good fighters are going at it Saturday night. Two guys at the top of their division. Clottey and some dude. This is what boxing needs. We should be rooting for a good fight Saturday instead of putting our eggs in one basket, which may possibly create a dud of a fight.
