Calzaghe would beat any of the super six fighters quite easily!!!

I would not call that an easy fight at all. Calzaghe was forced to alter his initial game plan because Kessler was catching him with some hard shots. Joe boxed very well in the end and won comfotably on points but he wasn't able to mess about in their like he did with Lacy and Jones. I found the fight to be a very tense affair.

Before the Super 6 started, I would have favoured Calzaghe over all of them (although not "easily").

We can leave Kessler since he already beat him. JC would have beaten Taylor handily on points and obviously would out-class Greene.

I still think he would have beaten AA, whose style is ideal for Calzaghe, and Froch would have been lucky to win a round.

After the job Ward did on Kessler, I wouldn't be able to favour Joe and he certainly wouldn't win easily. A 50/50 fight for me.

i think ward has fast hands but he cant keep his feet on the floor. also, kessler never moves his head so it looked a better performance than it really was.

As long as the drunken community of the forum have something to celebrate about, even if this fighter's entire career lacks ANY win worth bragging about or an all-time great type of win, then all is good. Just take a look at the location of the majority posting in this thread for quick laugh.

Kessler was Calzaghe's best victory and it was in a competative fight, whereas Ward completely undressed him.

Ward can also fight a number of different ways - his adaptability would be important in this fight. Given his quality, I would definitely give Ward a good chance of beating Calzaghe.

Disagree. Whether he has the tools to beat them or not is another discussion but will he agree to travel one place to another if this tournament took place in his prime?, the answer is an obvious proven NO. He would come up with a long list of excuses how he's the top man anyway with the WBOgus to prove and all these guys should line up in Wales if they want a shot at him for dominating the division. Who did he beat to dominate you ask?, an ancient Eubank coming off a loss to Collins in his last serious fight and wins over Robin Reid, Thornberry and Sheika. The guy was screaming "I'm already proven" when he was fighting guys lke Pudwell, if there's a #1 list he will make then it's the "most delusional" list.

Yeah, Lacy and Kessler had to collect the belts he was supposed to collect when he constantly claimed he's #1 without the need to unify and fly to Wales otherwise these only two wins worth mentioning wouldn't exist either.

He should have tried to unify, right?, didn't all others do the same when they claim they want to dominate a division and stay in it their entire careers?

that doesnt mean anything. looking at the style of andre ward, i do think calzaghe would beat him in a UD. his punches arent very accurate and he dosnt look very balanced so im just waitin for him to take a good hard puch. i think the only fighter at SMW who could possibly beat calzaghe is Lucian Bute. he throws in fast bunches and gets away, just like joe!!

I'm training and in a great shape. Does that mean I can box?

Calzaghe is old, is out of boxing and his hands are dismantled for years. He could lose against any of the super six, more probably could win against some of them but I would be surprised if he win agaist everyone. Boxing isn't like cycling, you lose it when you don't do it, especially when the 40's aprroach. Come back to reality!

Ward's ability to switch up his style is what's going to make him hard for anyone to beat. He can adapt to what's in front of him and he would need that talent to beat Calzaghe. You say his punches aren't very accurate but Calzaghe hardly wrote the book on punching technique did he?

Ward has speed of hand and foot along with deceptive physical strength. He would give Calzaghe more problems than any other fighter he's faced, except maybe Hopkins.

You say that Bute would have the best chance of beating JC because he fights just like him? Since when did boxing work like that?

As far as your claim Pavlik would beat all entrants in the Super 6? At best I'd give him a 50/50 chance of beating AA and I'd heavily favour Ward and Kessler to beat him.

It's one thing to come on an internet forum and talk **** on fighters you don't like...but you should at least do your homework first so that you don't come off like an ignorant armchair critic.

If you know anything about Calzaghe, you know that he sat on the WBO belt all those years while desperately trying to do whatever he could to get a unification fight. Kessler and Lacy got the belts and had enough balls to fight Joe, so good for them.
