"In the worst way" my ass. The guy wouldn't take 1 tablespoon of blood out of his body 2 weeks before the fight for 25 million dollars. Roach is senile.

Rudyayrd... I didn't call you names.. You're seeing things. Maybe you are Paranoid like Floyd, making things up.

But like I said, and everybody who knows anything about the economics of sport, we all understand that you simply cannot ignore economic ebbs and flows when talking numbers.

Yes, it's true that against common opponents, Floyd outsold Manny, but even more important is to look at present and in 2009, Manny Pacquiao outsold Floyd Mayweather during Obama's presidency.

Now, can you please provide the quote where I called you names???

I'm not sure what you mean by this...

I just know that after Floyd retired, suddenly many people lost their homes and jobs and Obama had to come save us. Floyd retired in 2007. Pacquiao crossed over into the mainstream in 2008.

Like the rest of the country, Floyd had sudden financial problems and un-retired in 2009 fought Marquez and sold 1,000,000 PPV. That's a ridiculous low number compared to his fight with Oscar in 2007 when the economy was good.

Pacquiao fought 2 months after Floyd and sold 1,250,000 PPV.

true, pacquiao did sell more than floyd in 09, but not by much when regarding who the opponents was. if you asked me what was more impressive, pacquiao gettning 1.3 million buys against cotto, or floyd getting 1 million buys fighting marquez, then to be honest with you i think floyd getting 1 million viewers against marquez was the bigger shock. now in 2010, floyd will out sell manny pacquiao. you can look into it that how much you want to, but they're both the biggest draw in boxing right now.

Just admit it Rudyard. You just quoted Leonard Ellerbe and concerning boxing economics, you have absolutely no opinions or ideas of your own.

I would rather listen the articles I've read on this before I listen to a ****boy on a boxing forum!

AND no...Ellerbe didnt say **** like that to make me form my opinion...try sticking to the topic instead of making a damn fool of yourself!:good

    Boxingscience,

Is it really that shocking that Floyd sold 1,000,000 with Marquez? Floyd is the biggest draw in the sport. I think it would be more shocking if he sold less than 1 million.

But for the record, the majority of PPV buys for Floyd vs Marquez were purchased from regions with high concentrations of Mexican and Filipino buyers. Did Floyd get those numbers because of Marquez and curious Pacquiao fans? Or does Floyd truly have the star power to bring in big numbers from those markets on his own?

From an economic perspective, 2010 is exciting. we have Pacquiao selling his next fight virtually on his own, and we have Floyd selling his fight with Mosely, who Floyd has admitted is not a PPV draw.

But I think it's safe to predict that Floyd/Shane will outsell Pacquiao/Texas.

But it doesn't matter what the numbers are because Floyd/Pacquiao will never happen. Floyd has demanded an immediate rematch with Mosely for whatever reasons so we all know Pac/Floyd is not happening anytime soon unless an earthquake hits Pomona and Shane is forced to withdraw from the rematch.
