Ricky Hatton is retiring and has said "He will never box again". What a sad way to end it for him, he must feel gutted. Hope the rest of his promoting life goes well. http://www.casinobeacon.co.uk/news-articles/news/2010-03/ricky-080310.htm http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ot...rn-calls-quits-telling-friends-box-again.html Edit: 09-03-10, Looks like he's still going to fight on now... ;s it's confusing
good decision, thanks for the memories ricky, a few fighters would do well to take a leaf out of your book with regards to career decisions! a true modern day great,a warrior and quite simply a good lad! boxing is a duller place without u,cheers.
I saw a recent video of him juming around the gym with some boxing gloves on and i swear he looked like Kirby. I don't see how he was ever gonna get into fighting shape.
:roflUr messed up for saying that and you know it! But on a serious part I too did not see him getting back in shape.
I would have liked to have seen him in one last fight against Juan Manuel Marquez in England, but this is probably for the best. Good for him, knowing when it's time to go. On another note, let's hope he doesn't die of heart failure in the next five years.
damn, I thought he had maybe one more in him, going out with a victory over a decent opponent woulda been nice but know one knows his body better than him and if he thinks he ain't got it left then he ain't got it left. thanks for the memories, a true fan favorite warrior.
props and good luck in whatever venture ricky decides on...tough son of a *****...i wish we would have got to see him evolve his style like we were seeing in 24/7. no shame in the game when you lose to manny and floyd. He was an interesting character. perhaps he can still have things to do in the world of boxing.. announcing?
I'm pretty surprised by this, he kept saying he didn't want everyone's last memory of him in a boxing ring being KO'd in the 2nd round. Maybe it was on doctors orders.
