Katsidis or Diaz? Sorry to distract from the topic, but where did you read that? Last I heard he was hoping for Hatton after deciding Khan wasn't worth it. Alexander would probably outbox Valero to a UD or late stoppage. He has a good chin, but I wouldn't be suprised if Valero KD or KO him with a solid shot.
Why Alexander vs. Valero? Why not Devon Alexander vs. a prime Aaron Pryor? Why Devon Alexander at all? How about Edwin Valero vs. a prime Julio Cesar Chavez?
Everybody continues to write Valero off. . .oh well. Next victim: Peterson. Alexander-Valero would be a great fight but I think Valero breaks him down gradually, Mosquera-style.
Damn, I hope that fight with Peterson happens. But I heard it was going to be Lamont Peterson, which is kinda' strange because Anthony Peterson is the 135lbs fighter.
If Valero's tools are as handy at the weight I'd pick him to win this fight. Alexander is much softer than most eyes seem to be picking up on at this stage. He has has no X. Solid here and decent there, but nothing overwhelming. He's leaky and repetitive. If Valero gets a chance to land any of the shots Urango was landing - and he would, Alexander could eat some canvas. Alexander will fall short of true world class, but that's not to say Valero will see it.
Alexander wins by a landslide, but the Bobfather will never allow for one of his fighters to be tested to their level unless he is going to make a huge ****ing payday from it. Since Alexander isn't a huge draw, this fight isn't happening.
I see this one being an exciting fight. They are both punchers with less than perfect defense. Valero is the bigger puncher, Alexander is much more technical. I don't see either one of them running roughshod over the other. I would pick Alexander by UD in a fight where he has to get off the canvas at least once.
