After the story broke yesterday the journalists are gonna question him and get hatton to confirm or deny the reports today.

He better ****ing not retire. Hes got a few more great nights in him. Even if its just a farewell fight in manc i'd be happy. one last war against a world class opponent in Juan Manuel Marquez for all the fans as a goodbye. Just ****ing off on holiday is a half arsed way to leave!

He's going to pull a Mayweather stunt. He'll be back in two years.

He better not retire? He almost got killed dude! I was dozens of rows back from ringside and heard that left hand bounce off his jaw! It was brutal!

I fought as a martial artist for years and just losing or being stopped is hard to bounce back from. Being seperated from your senses for minutes is unimaginable and would have f*cked him mentally. If he hasn't got the stomach for combat then we should respect that.

    He owes us nothing!

say what you want to about how good he really was...but he's been great for boxing. he's earned the right to bow out now or continue if he likes. he's healthy, he's got a pile of money, a wife w/ legs as long as he is tall and a healthy kid.

I never thought he would come back. I hope he does call it a day. Being a Hatton fan I wouldn't want him to carry on.

:good Watching Hatton's fights over the years have been really entertaining and has been great for the sport. If he wants to retire then let him, no one but him knows how the Pac fight physically affected him. If he does wish to continue (which i hope he does) let his last scrap be in Manchester against the mighty Marquez.. would love to see that fight.

    Right decision in my opinion.

Don't see the point of him fighting on - too many younger, better fighters at the top of 140lbs division now. Bradley, Alexander and Khan would all beat Hatton at this stage of his career i think. He has some very good wins on his record, lost to the two best modern day fighters and he's got a tonne of cash in the bank for a nice retirement.

Ricky's been a great servent to boxing and always gave it everything he had in that ring. His fan base was phenomenal and I don't we'll see that level of support for a good while. Ten's of thousands of fans travelling half way across the world to watch him fight was insane.

He is already moving into super heavyweight territory.
I see a clash with valuev in 2012 on the cards.

Looks like it was another made up newspaper story.

He says he ain't quitting but how on earth is he going to be ready to fight in May or June?
