What the hell is wrong with that lunatic valuev turning down was it 2.5 million for the fight?? The guy doesnt even have a belt anymore, total loser. Now we end up with a less than great on paper fight but vitalis last few opponents have been good contenders and he is active for a heavy, so i dont think its horrid at all, just disappointing

Vitali hasn't had a megafight since Lewis. Vitali has fought decent opposition, but his last two oppenents in Johnson and now this guy. It's time to get back to fighting top oppenents again.

    Quick question.
Will the European title be on the line here too?
Might be a nice little trinket to add to Vitalis collection!

Could someone give me a quick version of why Vitali vs. Valuev fell apart? I thought they'd agreed to terms, unless I dreamed that up (which is very possible, since I dream up fights some nights).

  10. I'm no Klitschko fanboy, but I don't see what else Vitali was supposed to do.

Some of you guys are funny though..."OMG HE'S FIGHTING A BUM WHY DON'T HE FIGHT ONE OF THESE BUMS IN STEAD:" And then you list 4 fighters that aren't even fighting, 2 that are 63 years old and one who lost to those two 63 year olds. Heavyweight division is a JOKE except for the Klitschkos, theres no reasonable competition, let alone world class. Valuev is a 7 foot BUM and he's the best opponent around who doesn't already have a fight scheduled, AND he's priced himself out of the fight over and over because he's waiting to be handed the mandatory shot at the WBA again. Cut Vitali a little break here.

Vitali was gonna fight Haye's leftovers and now turns to some club fighter and they are saying Haye's fighting low competition? Granted, Ruiz is a real dog of a fighter but he's effective.

Haye will knock the **** out of Wlad and school Vitali :hey:hey:deal:deal

I'm inclined to do so. The Klitschko brothers have been facing the top contenders in the divison for years now, and both even tried extensively to get Haye in the ring until he ducked out of both negotiations and a signed contract. I'm willing to give Vitali a pass on a lesser name here given that he's shown a willingness to fight anyone. As anyone should.

Then he shouldn't have backed out of fighting them. I was a fan of Haye until it became evident that he is all bark, no bite. Talks a big game, then backs out of the apparent dream fights he's always wanted.

I'd be happy to cut him a break if this was a little "keep busy" fight between some top names but jesus!

Yes Valuev isn't great, Toney is overweight and over age, Holyfield is past it but at least they're good names who stand a better chance than Sosnowski.

Haye is the best prospect at the minute. Why not just wait for Haye in the autumn? Vitali was out of action for nearly four years, a few months isn't going to hurt.

Also, the Klitschkos are going to have to get used to the idea they may have to offer better deals to get better opponents otherwise theyre gonna start losing fans.

    I was one of them.
