I still wish he would fight JMM for his last fight. It would be a great fight that would sell well. Oh well...
Thanks for the great nights out at the Gmex and the M.E.N. Ricky Britians favourite fighter - Ricky The Hitman Hatton
Im a big Ricky fan as you can probably tell from my username! He was my inspiration to get in better shape after seeing him lose loads of weight to get in great condition for Mayweather, now I have a great body and a happy lifestyle Initially I was dissapointed by the news, but on the whole I think its the correct decision. He's a multi millionaire, and hes got Campbell and Jennifer to go home to. I dont think he ever wanted to come back, I think just the manner of his Pacquiao defeat left a huge amount of heartache for him and he was only going to come back to irradicate the memory of that huge knockout. Anyone who remembers Hatton only for Mayweather and Pacquiao are un-educated fans, I remember his coming of age night against Thaxton, his war against Kostya Tyzu, his destruction of Castillo, his welterweight belt win against Collazo and his schooling of Paulie the Magic Man. Yes he came up short against the two best fighters of our generation, but he has the balls to fight them and not hide behind an undefeated legacy and then retiring (Calzaghe). He fought the best and most skilled challengers out there and came up twice, simialr to one of his heroes, the other Hitman, Tommy Hearns. Im sure we will see him in a promoting capacity, its just a shame because I cant see a fighter from Britain ever being as beloved as Ricky again, we shall have to wait and see. All the best to Ricky, thanks for the great memories.
Its time to get out, he has his health and he is set financially. If he where to fight at the top level again the same result would happen. Urango would kick the living **** out of him right now.
Go ram your head into a ring post and your Stan-ish mockery will be complete:good Washed Up, Washed Up, and Gift. I give him props for beating Paulie though. Although getting hit by paulie is like getting punched by a 3 year old wearing sockem boppers.
Man, I thought Paulie would beat him. and if the Paulie that showed up against Diaz was there that night I think he would have.
Paulie wants to be an elite but he doesn't know how to win fights when it matters. I wanted to like the guy despite all of his ***goty attention whoring, but I can only get down wit loud mouths when they actually win.
Let's hope that as a promoter he doesn't gloat at shutting worthy contenders out of title shots, like he did as a fighter.
