"Cotto knew if he stayed in the corner I would hurt him. That's why he kept running."

The only person I can remember this happening to was Jermain Taylor.

It was clear that Clottey beat Cotto. Round 6 was Cotto's only convincing round and that was after he threw Clottey to the ground the round before. Clottey proceeded to take round 6 off because hurt his leg. Cotto barely landed any punches through the entire fight and was getting hit at will.

    Listen dude...

You pointed at the results of a poll to suggest that Cotto won the fight...

I pointed at a poll that states how many more diehard fans Cotto has than anyone on the forum, including Pac. My point is, it's just silly to use a poll of boxing fans to determine who won a fight. Especially when one of those boxers involved is a huge fan favorite and the other gy is someone very few people root for.

    You understand.:good

    Defense
    Ring Generalship
    Effective Aggression
    Clean Punching

How many of those things did Cotto do throughout the fight?

Please explain how Cotto won the fight?

Not to mention Clottey outlanded him by 179 punches.

And he outlanded him in 8 out of 12 Rounds.

Clottey didn't do these things throughout the WHOLE fight.

Cotto did won 4 rounds convincingly imo, and there were other rounds that
could have gone either way. I had it 6-6, with Cotto winning 114-113 due to the round 1 knockdown.

But like I said before, I don't see a problem if you scored it for Clottey.
I also think it was more of Clottey giving the fight away, he could have stepped it up in the final rounds but he didn't, he actually did the opposite.
Cotto also had to deal with a huge cut since the early rounds.

  7. 2/3 Scorecards. :deal :gsg

Clottey landed clear punches and was effectively aggressive throughout the whole fight. He was the one pressing the action and landing punches at will. That is clean punching, ring generalship, and effective aggression.

Clottey didn't give the fight away. He was clearly ahead going into the championship rounds.

Cotto didn't do any of those four things, so how did Cotto win the fight?

So because the guy who has a conflict of interest and Pac (Who sees better than the rest of us, or what????) say so, we should change our opinions???

PS, no, I don't give a **** either way, I like both fighters but couldn't care less who should have won, it was a close fight and a fight that close might as well be a draw as far as I'm concerned.

I think you're creeping out onto an awfully thin limb, here, my friend

Regarding Clottey and Cotto, however, I as well believe that Clottey deserved better. :good

Yes it was a good close fight (Cotto's bad cut playing a huge factor), and one that had me worried throughout, but it wasn't a robbery. Cotto won the fight because he won the championship rounds, and Clottey like every other Clottey fight didn't do enough to seal the deal. By taking the pressure off of Cotto in those rounds, but there was a reason why he took the pressure off in my opinion.

I forget in what round towards the later part of the fight...Clottey and Cotto were exchanging and Cotto caught Clottey with a left hook that hurt Clottey, and in my opinion made him think twice about going all in. 114-113 is about how I had it scored. With the KD being the difference in the fight. If anything Clottey needs to man up and except he lost! You have the biggest fight of your career on Saturday, and you're still crying about Cotto....Focus Clottey!

If someone asks Clottey about the Cotto fight, then he answers. Why can't all of you website officianados understand how many times these fighters are asked about their previous fights???

i don't think it was a robbery in the sense of Chavz-Whittaker, but I think Clottey did more to prove himself the better fighter roud for round than Cotto.

And anyone who thinks that the location and the starpower of Cotto had no bearing on the judgment of this fight is being naive.

Cotto won, I'm surprised there are still so many Cotto haters despite him being at the down point of his career

Clottey was so aggressive, yet he was bitching a moaning throughout the whole fight :-(.
