Impressive? Yes. Mega fight? No. It might have been in Germany, but then again the Klits could fight John Doe it would still be sold out there.

The Germans buy everything, they are just so damned ignorant in terms of boxingknowledge.

simple: you can say the opponents that james toney has beaten in the last two years to earn a shot? what about 3 years? 4 years? 5 years?

don't forget his loses, one completely dominant, to sam peter

make a list of the top 50 opponents that toney has beaten. I'm not happy about this either but toney is far less credible and borderline dangerous to let in a ring. You want vitali to fight joe frazier? cause he's beaten way more top 10 guys than toney

Actually this is what boxing needs. More fighters fighting as much as possible. It's good for the fans and it's good for boxing. People who criticize certain fighters really should take a step back and look at the full landscape. I wish more fighters took more "appearance" type fights in between big fights. It is a real treat for their fans, and make no mistake about it, it is for Vitali's fans. It is almost like taking a victory lap or going on a farewell tour. He knows he is well into the twilight of his career and wants to make the most of his diminishing clock in the sport.

Anyone criticizing Vitali and his decision to fight Albert Sonowski should realize that Vitali has nothing left to prove in the hard sport of boxing.

You sound like Toney is some HW legend whos work ethic, body building,
superior size, and youth giving him a real chance to dominate such overrated
paper champ as Vitaly, who btw was beaten to the pulp by Chris Byrd some time ago
and rather retired than had currage to defend himself against the fearless Rock.

Exactly...anyone who criticizes Vitali's decision making should take a look at Joe Louis', Larry Holmes', or Marvin Hagler's career. Unfortunately, they are all great fighters who fought in dead eras in their relative weight classes. Their lack of competition shouldn't detract from their legacy. It would be different if they had the opportunity to make great fights and just chose not to, like certain fighters whom will remain unmentioned.

The Polish fighter fought nobody.I can't even spell his name.

Toney fought Peter,Ruiz,Holyfield,Oquendo, Rahman,Guinn. He just lost to Peter whom he beat in the first fight so I do not know what the hell you are talking about. No to mention that Toney is an ATG.

Then again who the hell is that Polish fighter. Who has he beaten. He is probably european class, that is it.

Arreola and Kirk Johnson also had beaten nobody, do you really expect a different outcome this time?

It's the Calzaghe effect over there. It don't matter what class of oppenent they seem to fight, the Germans think nothing of paying a couple 100 bucs to see Wlad and his brother run a train on the weak ass division. At least they could do is continue fighting the best of a bad crop.

    I like these Haye fans:)

As I sad before many times I am not a Haye fan I dont like him as a men but I respect him as a fighter, he was great in CW and now is a HW champ--that's true

But he fought bums in HW that's also true

Who do you think have the 'real' chance to beat Vitaly (except Wlad his brother,
Valuev who turned down his offer, and Haye who fight mandatory with Ruiz)
.... please say who is that?

You may bring names of Solis or Povetkin, but
    a) Solis is no better than Gomez, beside he is fat and unexperienced
    b) Povetkin is targetting Wlad ...for 2-3 years so far and is proffering the way it is.

Are they better than Solsonwski ... probably they are,
are they willing, ready to step up ... NO!
