People dont remember that now, either that or they didnt pay attention back then. At his best he wasnt just about that big power, but a great punch slipper, great speed/counters. He was the FW king who beat every belt holder and 9 champions within 5-6years

Bungu should arguably have been rated above Morales/MAB at 122, he beat Mkkinney before MAB (that was MABs best win then) and beat him again after, he was an IBF 122lb champ for 6years, then got sparked in 4 by Hamed

Hamed had much more potential than both MAB and Morales, he just pissed it away

well thats his problem, you can't rate a man on what he could of done, Barrera and Morales proved how great they were time and time again. They proved they were superior fighters to Hamed.

Not really. Besides his power, he was short, had shitty boxing skills, his defense sucked and he proved to have little fighting heart when he was on more of an even playing field in the size department.
He reminds me of what we're seeing from Vic Darchinian, a strong guy that blasts small guys out, but gets his head handed to him when he moves up to a more realistic weight for his strength. Vic's probably a little better technically than Hamed too.

Johnson was a decent fighter, but had no firepower to expose Hamed. Johnson would have been hurt just as badly by the likes of Morales and Barrera.

Im not rating him on what he could have done. At his best he knocked out anything he hit. he WOULD have hit morales. I agree barerea and morales were superior fighters but barerea had to change his game to even compeat with hamed who by then was ripe for the beating he deserved anyway. it wasnt a fight hamed couldnt have come back from. he chose not to fight at top level again and let himself down. his legacy has rightly suffered because of this. Dispite this nobody had an answer to a peak hamed.

perhaps. but hamed had the EXTRA power thats the difrence. he landed shots that there was no answer to. he landed weird shots going backwards nobody saw comming. he got beat when he stopped using all his other slipery skills. he became an anoying arogant man and lost respect for the disipline champions need. thats what beat him as much as barrera.

I liked watching Hamed. He would dip and throw those uppercuts from the ground up, but he was so wide open I knew it was a matter of time before someone was going to hurt him badly. He got up from the canvas a lot and showed a pretty good chin, because he was getting hit very cleanly at times and you just cant keep fighting that way at the top level, and thats why they tried to change his style.
I will say he accomplished quite a bit for his limitations, but some of that has to do with good matchmaking.

Yeah, except Vic is more then willing to move up in weight, fight the best in the world and even passionately chase a rematch with the first man to beat him.

Can you imagine Hamed calling out Barrera? ****er retired from boxing because of that loss, Vic sure as **** isn't that similar to Hamed.

nah if you watch Hamed V Barrera rounds 11 and 12 when Barrera realise that there nothing to fear about going forward, Barrera starts putting the pressure on Hamed and really gives him a beating, Hamed is actually reduced to running.

and in regards to the highlighted part, thats just pure speculation
because he did'nt prove it against the best.

 Well I agree with that, but I meant from a performance standpoint.
