i've been watching some training clips on youtube, it seems as if roach is training pac for floyd, the way they are working on trapping, getting close etc, add to the fact that he's sparring slicksters such as steve forbes, that benevidez kid and other smaller boxers.

if thats a case then its a BAD idea, joshua clottey aint no push over, he fights nothing like those sparring partners and will put the hurt on!

Yeah I agree to an extent but on the flip side these guys are really quick handed and Clottey isn't. Maybe the thinking is if Pacquiao can time Forbes etc, then Clottey will be cake!

Either that or it's old footage when Pacquiao thought the Mayweather fight was on.

    :nono Mistake.

Clottey is actually pretty quick-handed when it comes to throwing combos. Sparring these guys doesn't seem to far-fetched, though, in my opinion.

sshh! you're not supposed to say anything about clottey. let them overlook him and experience a rude awakening. but kudos to team pac if they are really working that hard to prepare for floyd.

I think Forbes and Clottey are about as different as it gets but I respect your opinion.

Just as roach said, maybe pac is still not yet ready for floyd so they have to drop the pac-floyd fight on march 13 and instead, fights clottey. just IMo.

Ill be amazed if pac TKOs Clottey. It means he's been readying himself against two fighters, Clottey and Floyd. Hoping for a Pac-Floyd @Dec..

Yeah the only way to get ready for Clottey is to have some one block 90% of ur punches hit u then wack u in the head with their head in this case a hammer !

They have better stay focused on the task at hand. Or they'll watch the cash at hand go down the drain.

That's what I was thinking. Looking at their training, it looks like Pac is learning to cut the ring off and I dont think getting Steve Forbes for sparring was a coincidence. Roach did mention they needed more than 8 weeks to prepare for the fight.

Hopefully its a sign that the fight will happen next year.

**** putting us through the negotiation proccess again though.

It seems like it. Not saying that is a good idea though.

I assume they are planning on Clottey going against the ropes and laying there with his high guard picking off shot's to the head like that famous clip of him Vs. Cotto when he laughs & shakes his head afterwards..

Except Team Pac will focus their attack on JC body.

yes.... i hope pac really IS training for floyd, this will actually really help him IMO.

To be honest, i know i might be being a bit overconfident, but i dont think Pac has to train FOR CLOTTEY, if he gets himself in the usual shape, goes over with roach a few times on how to attack him, spar a few times with his opponent doing the clottey style, then he pretty much is good to go, i think Pac is good enough and has enough experience that he can train for floyd even while preparing for clottey.

Clottey is a very basic fighter, and pac is not some novice... Hes not going to be in there and not know what to expect or what to do come fight time. Clottey is going to be there with his guard up, coming forward, throwing punches....

But mayweather is a puzzle and im glad they got started now in dealing with it....
