The Ring picked Froch to beat Kessler by UD. I'm wondering if this is what most people think or if they're picking an upset. I personally think Kessler still has enough in him to beat Froch.

Dirrel and Taylor both hurt Froch and Kessler hits harder than both of them the problem will be can Kessler still move his hands fast enough to land those punches. That's a question no one can answer until we see them in the ring together.

I think Kessler will beat Froch who are you picking?

I always picked Kessler to pretty much give Froch a sustained beatdown.

    Technically he's just fundamentally better.

That still stands, but the questions he needs to answer are mental ones. There will be no suprises in what Froch brings - he will bring will to win and a lot of self belief. If Kessler isn't mentally strong enough, Froch will wear him down. If Kessler has the mental strength to match Froch, Kessler wins.

I think it could go either way but im picking Froch.

I cant see Kessler evading Froch's shots rather trying to use a good guard but getting bullied around and eventually losing by a couple of rounds.

I might even go as far as saying Froch may stop Kessler in the later rounds!

Kessler struggled with two men that had much, much faster hands than he does - Calzaghe and Ward. Froch doesn't have handspeed. What he 'does' have is a chin that's relatively easy to find and a straightforward, come-ahead style that plays right into Kessler's hands. Kessler isn't flashy, but what he does do he does well, and that's throw extremely crisp straight punches that will find a home on Froch's chin long before Froch's wide, looping shots connect. Watch for Kessler to keep Froch on the outside and nail him from range with that patented one-two. If Froch closes, Kessler needs to detonate the same kind of uppercut that staggered Calzaghe in their fight. I don't see Froch lasting all 12 rounds, even with his ability to absorb copious amounts of damage - which he will need to do in this fight.

If Froch wants to win he'll need to take a page from Ricky Hatton's book in his fight against Tszyu, where he beat a fundamentally better boxer by mugging and mauling. Froch needs to hold, clinch, hit, and play dirty to get under Kessler's skin and pound hooks and uppercuts on the inside.

I agree with the Ring. Kessler is too mentally weak to stand up to Froch's attack for a full 12 rounds.

    This.

Ward fight certainly brought some question up but...hell Froch is no Ward!
Not too sure on that one but i'm picking Kessler by ko.

lol. Total bull**** IMO. Kessler, unless he's a comnpletely shot fighter (which I definetly do not think is the case), is going to box circles around Froch.

Personally, if the first round of the Super Six was an indicator, Abraham and Ward will be in the final with Ward winning a hard-fought decision.

Kessler is better boxer than Froch, but so was Jermain Taylor and we all saw how that went.

Its difficult to pick fights that involve Froch.

He is fundamentally not that good a fighter. He is a 168 pound version of Margarito in many ways.

If you take his last 3 fights, (Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell) none of them were really his fight to win, each was the other guys to lose. Its the same with the Kessler fight.

The worst way to fight a tireless slugger is to give him too much respect and base your gameplan on keeping him off you. Mosley showed a great example of this against Margarito, as did Dirrell when he actually threw stuff at Carl. He is there to be hit, Kessler needs to show him no respect and rely on his superior ability to take him out. If he does that he wins the fight, providing his bad timing vs Ward was a one off and he is still there mentally.

Having said all that, a Froch win wouldn't surprise me.

If Froch wins this Match he has a better resume than Calzhage! Still think Calzhage would beat him though.

Kessler has some problems but will isn't one of them. Taylor simply collapses in the later rounds of tough fights. Kessler has always kept fighting, even in his losses. He was unhappy when they stopped the Ward fight despite having 3 nasty cuts on his face. The only flaw in Kessler's mentality is that he's a slow starter and very slow to adapt.

But, as said, Froch isn't going to do anything he doesn't expect, and he doesn't have the handspeed to trouble Kessler, so I have a hard time believing Kessler loses this one. Froch doesn't hit that hard, doesn't have a great chin, and doesn't seem to believe in defense.
