I don't hink Pavlik will have an easy time with Williams, His people kjnows that as well. Williams is more subject to punchers that hook, the reason for him taking the Winky fight. Punch that use straight punches find it harder to catch Williams because he leans side to side. I hooking fight with power will just time the lean catch him to far to the side he take full contact. That what Martinez was doing.

I agree, bad matchup for Williams. Martinez on the other hand will decision Pavlik, he's too slick for him.

Paul made Martinez look slick. Watch the fight again. Pavlik isn't going to be so obliging.

Will do, I think that is an interesting ponit now that I think about it. Pav will maintain his distance much better than Willams did. Martinez is a hell of a figher but he won't BHOP Pavlik...I don't think.

As good as PWill is, if he used his length better he would be awesome.

Completly different fights. Sergio, will not be 185, the guy is pushing it to fight 160. Hopkins is harder to hit clean and uses alot more angles, but Sergio, speed should be the difference. He is faster than anybody Kelly has fought, including Taylor, at 160, who was much faster than Hopkins.

Well yeah, not many are as slick as Hops. That said, the height advantage could work strongly in Pavliks favor if he is able to keep Martinez at the end of his jab. Interesting fight, I still like Martinez but it will be close me thinks.

Seriously, watch how Paul bends forward at the waist and lunges in with a wide shot only to get countered. Even his corner told Paul he was making it too easy for Martinez. I like to watch fights back to back to get a feel for an upcoming fight. Totally useless with the last fights of Kelly and Sergio.

Yeah, I do remember Williams falling in. He is fun to watch and frustrating at the same time. He makes so many mistakes and fights a fight that he shouldn't but he puts on a damn good show.

Exactly. He's beaten-- fair and square, mind you-- at a weight he does not traditionally campaign at by an sure fire HOF and because of it has been relegated to dog meat status.

I don't understand the mentality either.

Corrupt scorecards? I'm sick of ****** people thinking Martinez got robbed and blah blah blah. For god sake it was a close fight that could go either way. Suspect jaw? If he's suspect then Mattys, Margarito should have ko Williams mostly with Margarito cause he tko Cotto but couldn't with Williams but yet Williams has a suspect jaw? F4cking idiot.

No. He says the guy has an awful defence and a china chin, you would expect the combination of those 2 to get KOd every fight... how many times has Williams been KOd?

The thing that struck me and my brother inlaw as the most obvious thing about Williams/Martinez was that both guys get their asses handed to them by Kelly Pavlik. Both are just way to easy to hit to make it past 8 rounds.

Pavlik's KO ratio in fights at 160 scheduled for 10 or more rounds is 100%, and no one has ever saw more than 9 rounds with him at 160. That's not an accident, and should not be ignored. The man knocks people the **** out because he has very heavy hands, and a **** load of skill. Anyone who says otherwise is simply not a real boxing fan.

And yet Pavlik never fought a fighter at middleweight that is slick like Martinez.
