Hm, not so sure actually. Frank Bruno could easily get iced vs. Sam Peter or Arreola, but had the tools to beat them.
Spinks wouldn't do too well in today's division.
It all depends on the matchmaking. If you match Vitali's competition correctly, they could probably be winning 5:1 or 4:2 over Tyson's 80s opponents. But it's also possible the other way around.

 

At this stage of his career, he doesn't need them.

 

I'd think the opposite.

 

Why? Because he is old and needs to be active? Perhaps, but these fights are a risk (despite the massive gulf in class) as anything can happen. Let's say he is cut and that scuppers a mega fight? Would it really be worth taking a marking time fight then?

 

sorry buddy, i pretty much stopped reading after that, and if you sincerely believe that i question your boxing knowledge. sam peter or chris arreola pose little to no threat to frank bruno and would get jabbed to death before eating a big right hand. frank bruno gave a prime leenox lewis all types of hell, and you think fat, slow, and predictable sluggers such as peter and arreola would beat him?? but who am i kidding, this is coming from a klitschko nuthugger doing nothing but inflating the mediocre career of his favorite fighter.

 

Trevor Berbick – with the exception of losing to Holmes and a “W” over a shot Ali take a look at clowns this guy fought before Tyson... You must be joking.

James Tillis – LOL

Tony Tucker – just before fighting Tyson he lost to Douglas, other than that the resume is rather weak.

Frank Bruno – best name on his list was a loss to Witherspoon

Larry Holmes – over the hill and had little time to prepare

Michael Spinks – puhlease

Tyrell Biggs – LOL, prime Klits would mop the floor with this guy

 

If he stays out of training too long, his back will stiffen up again and he won't be able to fight. He probably needs to fight every three months or so. If he gets hurt, so be it. If he sits, then he'd only be fighting at 80% when he does fight.

frank bruno - Glass Jaw and no stamina. Would **** his pants at the staredown

larry holmes - came on on short notice after drinking beer and doing nothing else since he retired

michael spinks - would get crushed by Vitali Klitschko huge mismatch

tyrell biggs - awful fighter no discipline would get murdered by Klitschko

 

I'll sum up this thread in one word:

WHY?

Please let's put a decent fighter in the ring with the Klitschko's. At least Vitali fought Arreola last year - so I'll give him a pass on this - but for heaven's sake fight someone worth fighting. Even an over the hill Tua would be a more intriguing match than this.

 

Tua probably wouldn't land a single punch.
