Who did Tyson beat? Holmes, Spinks, Bruno X2, prime Ruddock X2, Tucker, Thomas, Berbick and Smith, mediocre as some of these names are his resume stills shits all over Vitali.

Who the **** did Vitali ever beat? His losing effort against a washed up Lewis is the highlight of his career.

 

I've NEVER seen an elite fighter in thier prime lose to a shot fighter, Marciano took out Louis, Holmes took out Ali, and Tyson took out Holmes, Vitali was in the SAME position as the others but he couldn't get the job done.

Vitali's best performance is a TKO loss to a 38 year old Lewis who had one foot in retirement. Vitali was indeed ahead on the cards, but was blowing out of his arse and cut to ribbons - that doesn't indicate that he was winning the fight to me..... in fact I'd say that had it gone on he'd have been KO'd in the 8th round.

Tyson's resume isn't as strong nor as deep as his fans would like to think, but still way better than Vitali - and he had beaten taller guys convincingly throughout his career.

wow....Lewis just got his best win of his career a year earlier what do you mean shot? Lewis from 2003 does NOT equal Homles of 88. At most lewis was on the decline of his prime but to say he was shot? come on man.

 

You know... his losing record, is probably the reason why he is recognised by quite many as an ATG. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that, bar the cut, he was outboxing Lewis, outpointing Lewis, outgunning Lewis.

So even as cut as he was, most probably unable to see out of one eye (I mean, if Kessler complained he couldn't see, there's no way Vit could see), he fought on and you know what, jezz, you'd have thought Lewis could have handled a boxer who couldn't see out of an eye. And yes, he bombed him man, he bombed, but... heck, Vitali was never close to being knocked out in that fight. If Lewis's best shots can't take Vitali out... then what can?

See where I'm getting? There is no blueprint to beating Vitali Klitschko. No proven one. Hoping for a cut... it didn't happen when he was rocked hard by Sanders (the hardest he's ever been hit), it did happen when he was jabbed by Johnson, so you can never tell on cuts. What else can you do?
Outbox? Not happened yet. Outsmart? Likewise. Fought many bums? Maybe, but he fought them all. From the boxers (Byrd) to the punchers (Arreola) to the slicksters (Johnson) . There is no blueprint. It's just in the people's heads... and in other boxer's heads most definitely. But as of far, it never happened.

 

There is a big difference between Byrd, Arreola, Johnson etc to Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson and Bowe.

Hell, 2nd tier guys like McCall, Bruno and Ruddock have a fair shake in a H2H matchup.

 

It's not like Klit was winning and got stopped on cuts in the 12th round. It was the 6th, the fight was evenish, Vitali ahead, just. But Lewis was in his stride and landing real bombs on Vitali. Plus Lewis was shot and overweight. It's Vitali's defining fight, and that's a sad testament to his poor resume (not his fault).

Lets be honest about the Klit Lewis fight. A unmotivated, under-prepared and ageing Lewis was getting stronger as the fight progressed and IMO would have stopped him late.

Vitali is an excellent fighter who has never beaten another excellent fighter and is basically respected for being competitive and going life and death with an over the hill Lennox Lewis.

this is why i have so much dislike for lewis, its not Vits fault the heavyweight division is ****. he was ready to DIE for the rematch for his legacy and lewis cheated him out of it. He deserved the rematch no one can deny that and because lewis would rather have fought the tyson rematch he was denied the ONLY good name of the era on his resume.

edit- i said it earlier but how could lewis be shot when the best win of his career came a year prior? at most he was on the slide but to say he was "over the hill", "shot" is just a excuse for why he was getting beat.
