Bowe v witherspoon, lewis, tyson and bonecrusher that bruno fought?

All of the above is true, and I tend to lean towards your point of view.. It is still not a forgone conclusion though in my opinion.

glad, somebody can see this. but you;re right, bowe was a force at his best, and would give tyson all he can handle but how tested was bowe? people claim that tyson fought weak opposion in his heyday. well bowe was opposition was even worse. and as talented as bowe, tyson was as talented and then some. so you have to give the slight edge to tyson but it could theoretically go either way considering the ability of both men and what they have proven in their careers.

on the bowe/lewis side of the argument i cant help noticing most of the pro-bowe posters are citing bowe at his best (holyfield trilogy) and Lewis at his worst, when it comes to comparisons. Not really a fair comparison i think. Bowes a bit of an enigma and we'll never know how good he could of been. The one thing about Lewis i think most will agree on, is that when faced with a big guy/bowe kinda fighter (klitschko excepted) he jumped on them right away and was very successful with an early KO

Yes, I'd pick a prime Witherspoon to beat prime Bowe.
But a prime Bowe should beat the fat under-trained Witherspoon who battled Bruno.

When Lennox fought Frank Bruno, he was reported to have been having a pre fight kip, when the start time was brought forward due to impending rain that threatened to have the fight cancelled, hence his slow start. It wasn't his finest hour, but there was a reason.

 

Wasnt that fight during Ramadan, and with Bent bieng a Muslim, hospitalisation after the fight ensued?

 

Do you really think Bowe getting his dick KTFO(twice), is the same as Lewis' fight with Golota? Really bad comparison.... Sorry I realize this post is old but someone need to point that logic out.

 

Big Daddy definitely makes the weight of his punches be felt on Terrible Tim and Bonecrusher but against Lennox or Tyson, he would have to put on his best display, something against Lewis like against Jorge Luis Gonzales and na unrelentless pace and rough fight inside and out against Tyson.

 

Bowe's fights with Golota are largely viewed as losses for Bowe, circumstances allowed Bowe to prevail in those fights, he took a terrible beating in the rematch & showed signs of neurological damage during the post fights interviews, in fact the referee did not protect Bowe & should have caused a halt to the bout earlier in my opinion, Bowe certainly did not make Golota quit, that's nonsense.

 

Most of the guys Bowe fought were of a level that Lewis had no reason to fight them and Bowe shouldn't have wasted his prime facing them in the first place.

The spectacular lack of accomplishments on the part of Hide Gonzalez etc are the reason the fights aren't seen as meaningful not Lewis not fighting them.
