I know it's very soon to speak about Yuriorkis Gamboa this way but it has to be brought up...

Gamboa has a tremendous chance to not only become immortal in the pros as one of the best featherweights Champions ever but also has a awesome chance at becoming Cuba's best professional World Champion at any weight!

Cuba has indeed produced many great ones like Chocolate, Gavilan, Mantequilla, Casamayor, Gomez, Hurtado, Paret, Ramos, etc but in my opinion, Yuriorkis has a very real chance of passing them all in all aspects.
His speed, power, accuracy, combos, amateur pedigree, footwork and dedication is simply " unmatched " by any present fighter as well as any other great fighter from the past...

The only one that can really challenge and match Yuriorkis in all departments is countryman Guillermo Rigondeaux in my opinion!!!

I believe that Yuriorkis will be Cuba's best professional Champion ever, surpassing Chocolate, Napoles, Gavilan, Casamayor etc...

What do you guys think? :good

Yeah, but I am talking about Cuban professionals and Stevenson never boxed pro. I know that there were better Cuban amateurs than him but I am talking " in the pros "...

Casamayor did a lot for Cuba. He beat Diego Corrales, and that's no easy feat. He also kept fighting, and I believe was considered an underdog against Michael Katsidis, but beat him in an upset. I hope Casamayor will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Hes very talented but i think its almost impossible for him to surpass past cuban greats such as Napoles,Gavilan,Rodriguez and Chocolate.

I'm well and truly on the Gamboa bandwagon, and have been ever since he turned pro. This, however, seems unlikely.

I'd be delighted if he proved me wrong but I can't see him surpassing Gavilan and Napoles.
