Everytime I watch Tito V Oscar I still can't score it for Tito. He basically did nothing for 8 rds then Oscar did nothing in the last 4 rds. It would pretty much be up there for one of the biggest fights that stunk badly as a spectacle to watch.

Jimmy Wilde @ 42 ? Houston we have a problem . Maybe its the lack of footage that got him ranked so lowly by you Ippy but MANY fans have Wilde well placed in their top 20,
    But hey it's you're list fella .

Great work so far Ippy & well researched in the main too...

...not gonna raise any objections as it could involve put-up-or-shut-up, and I haven't the knowledge or the patience to compile an all-time Top 100!

No, by all means ask away. That's the point of the thing, not rude at all. I'm all over Dempsey to be honest. Read books, watched fights and docos etc. He was one hell of an exciting fighter and I'm well are of the impact he and Rickard had on the sport. He perhaps suffers from "the colour line", missing out on some great challengers.

I have Walcott above him mostly due to Walcott's efforts against Louis (wrong end of a decision that should've been his), and beating Charles twice, something I hold in very high esteem. He's got some great wins on his ledger over contenders in Baski and Bivens and blowing out future Lt Heavy champ Johnson as well. Winning the world title at the ripe old age of 37 and despite all that, outboxing the Rock only to be stopped. You could make a solid argument that Joe's resume is better than Jack's.

As I've said a couple of times, it does get to splitting hairs, so I have no qualms if you rate others higher. Hell, in a few months my list might look different. I don't beleive I'm relying on numbers to be honest, if so the likes of Oscar would be higher. That's just one part of it. I'm trying to factor everything for opposition faced, to dominance and even from what I've seen. Impact on the sport isn't something I've included, otherwise Tyson, Dempsey, Johnson etc would be higher.

You can't be serious can you? Holmes had been retired for 2 years, the WBC criticised for even sanctioning it and you're comparing it Calzaghe's win over a man that whipped Pavlik in his next fight? :nono

Deadly serious. Both men were way out of their primes when they fought Tyson and Joe except one got smashed while the other lost a split decision.

:think Hmmm come to think of it Larry did fight a competitive loss to Holyfield years later :deal

Absolutely, showing what he could do at an advanced age with a few fights under his belt. His inactivity prior to Tyson meant he was never going to win. Holmes' biggest weakness was money.

The only thing comparable in the Holmes that fought Tyson and the Hopkins that fought Joe is their age. Hopkins was viewed as the best Light Heavy on the planet at the time.

Just because some bloke speaks like he has a throat full of phlegm every sentence does not automatically raise him into the top 25!

Really interested to see where Ippy places Phil "Swifty" Gregory in the top 15 TBH :think
