Gotta admit I was a little surprised by their aggressive stance.

It would be the best fight but Arum won't let that happen, we would put him against Valero first, knowing Manny ain't got to many fights left. If Valero wins he would drop Pac like a bad habit and Valero would be his new money maker.

You are more in a position to notice if their editorial policy has changed or not, and to be fair, that is what you were talking about. This just has the 'feel' of a grudge move though. Oscar may not get too involved with the daily editorial decisions, but he still has the power to if he so chooses. IF it is happening then from what you are seeing, it is only in isolated instances.

You have to be a bit practical here. Pac is the current champion for Ring's 140 title. If he has no intention to move back to that weight, then you can't let him be the champion on paper. For all intent and purpose, the fighter has vacated that title.
Since there are no contractual obligations, it is sometimes a a judgment call. In this case, Ring in my opinion, is doing it right. Also consider that the 140 weight class is becoming the "IT" class - Bradley, Alexander, Valero just to name a few. Having an active 140 king is good for the sport.

all well and good but you can't claim to be more reliable and more accurate than the alphabet titles if you start playing by the same rules, almost arbritrarily

Still considering the circumstances? Now you all know me as a huge Pac hater, but why mention this now? His fight is in a few days. I am sure the decision will be 100% clearer for Pac post fight. This is some BS nit picking.

Guys are still jostling for dominance at 140. Pac could be overwhelmed and/or not willing to negotiate with Team Mayweather at 147 after this fight. They couldn't wait a month?

I agree with you in principal, but the timing? This is kind of wack.

Roach just want to take Bradley outta the equation, so Khan can be the man at 140

I agree with the Ring magazine.. There are too many young and hungry fighters down at lt. welterweight to have a Ring belt holder that does not intend to defend such anytime soon.

"The only three occasions when a fighter will lose his championship status are when he retires, moves to another weight division, or is defeated in a championship bout."

Manny has fought 1 time at 140 lbs. If he continues to fight at 147 lbs., isn't that tantamount to leaving the division? Furthermore, Manny claimse he plans to defend the 140 lb. belt in his next fight. That to me seems like Arum has a fight lined up between he and Valero on tap for this upcoming fall.

LMAO, this is the same ****ing Ring that said we should all "lay off" Bernard Hopkins for blatantly avoiding Chad Dawson.

What a steaming pile of **** the Ring has become since ODLH got his paws on it. :-(
