Floyd fans, does this change your mind on the Pac-Floyd breakdown? (Bill?)

Most Floyd fans that I've seen defending his part in the collapse of the superfight and attacking Pacquiao seem to do on the basis of "well Pac agreed to fight Clottey so it was him that walked away not Floyd". It seems that you were wrong though dudes:

From the April 2010 edition of Golden Boy Promotions' The Ring magazine...

"But then Team Pacquiao came into mediation in January willing to compromise. Pacquiao wanted a 30-day testing window. Mayweather wanted 14. Pacquiao said 24. If Mayweather wanted the fight, he would have said 18. And on it would have gone until they settled on a 21-day window and then everybody could have made enough money to buy a fleet of Rolls Royces and all the guns they could fit into them. But instead Mayweather, down to only two choices - make the fight or make it painfully obvious that he never wanted the fight - stopped negotiating. And like that, the fight was off."

I think you should all stop blindly defending the guy and admit the "painfully obvious" truth here. :good

first off whos he quoting ?

secondly pac gave blood 20 days in for the clottey fight still inside the 21 day offer

and thirdly all this stuff about him being woke up in the night to give blood ok yeah that would be a problem , but i heard recently pac has to get up in the middle of the night to eat

Yeah I think Roach or Ariza said they had to wake him up to give him "protein shakes"

i know , theres no choosing side here its just fact mayweather shouldnt have made this unpresidented stipulation but after team pac agrees to it the ownes is on them to conform

also mayweather will now make every fighter go through the tests if they wanna fight him so its not a duck from floyd

Here's what people don't realize. If you give too big of a window, the testing becomes useless. At a certain point the fighter would have too much time to cylce off a PED. Victor Conte is of the opinion that 10 days should be that maximum testing window that should be allowed. So they're already stretching it with 14 days, why would they offer more time? Furthermore, anyone who truly believes that Pacquiao would be mentally affected from giving blood 14 days before a fight is a fool. If they don't want to do the testing out of principal, that's understandable. However, to sit there with a straight face and claim 14 days is too close to the fight to get tested is just asinine. And when you consider that Pacquiao's own trainer claimed that a 7 day window would be perfectly reasonable, then it becomes pretty clear which side was playing games.

Here's another thing, this quote would lead you to believe that 14 days was the original testing window proposed by Mayweather. But that's not what happened. He wanted to test up to the day of the fight. Eventually, he comprimised and offered 14 days. So he comprimised 14 days. Pac came out and said 30 days and then only comprimised 6 days down to 24 days after a video came out of him getting blood taken 24 days before the Hatton fight.

what floyd WANTED was no cutoff, 14 days was the compromise that was right down the middle from floyds no cutoff and mannys 30 day cut off, the negotiations didnt start with floyd at 14 and manny at 30, floyd proposed the the 14 day to avoid going to the mediator but pacquiao still didnt budge from his 30 day cutoff, until taking 6 days off during the mediation

Floyd compromised to make it 14days and that quote says its Floyds fault cos he didnt make it 21days? How is 14 to 21 compared to 24 to 21 fair? Basic maths is too much for some people it seems.

30 days was already a compromise from the starting position which is no blood tests at all. You gotta realise that.

Its not like before Pacquiao entered negotiations with Mayweather, he was already expecting to take a drug test through blood up to 30 days away from the fight. Floyd entered negotiations wanted olympic blood tests up to the fight, Pac entered negotiations expecting the standard NSAC drug tests which are urine only.

So the 30 day proposal was a compromise.

The original draft of the contract had language that called for olypmic style testing, which of course includes blood testing. So I don't know what you're talking about. Team Pac didn't start complaining until more than a week after it became public knowledge that the fighters would both be undergoing olympic style testing.

No ****, just like I suspect Mayweather didn't go into negotiations expecting to have a weight penalty that called for him to pay $10 mill for every lb. overweight. It would be shady though if he agreed to it and then a week later made a big deal out of it.
